This was NOT clickbait. It was very useful for me, so THANK YOU, Kevin. I upgraded from iPad Mini 2 to iPad 8th gen, and as expected, I could no longer edit Excel sheets using the Excel app, as I don't have an Office 365 subscription. It was possible on the iPad Mini 2, because MS allows it for devices with screens less than 10.1 in. Anyway, I was already looking for alternatives that could edit my Excel files and sync to OneDrive (couldn't find one), but thanks to this video, I discovered Office web apps! Hurray 🙂 They work great for my needs.

In the earlier release of MS Office Suite (software delivered on 3.25" disketts) of the mid-90s, it was possible to merge separate documents (say a financial report) from Word, Excel, etc. into a single document having a continuous pagination (including alpha numeric where need be) of the combined document irrespective of the pagination of the originating individual Office components. Such merging function does not seem to be available in recent releases of Office. How does one get such a merging function in say Office 16 or 19?

Nice presentation style, and content. For my home purposes though I'm still using Office 2007. It's paid for, and does everything I need. I know newer versions have evolved, but honestly I think the average user would be perfectly happy with Office 97. Most people just don't need anything beyond the basics. I'll probably use what I have until the day comes where it won't install on whatever version of Windows we are up to at that point, and then I'll probably just use Libre office. I have nothing against MS making money, but I'm happy with what I have. The rest is just fluff.

In this particular presentation, there are a couple of question in that, I am having a little difficulty wrapping my head around 1. I have Microsoft Office 10 already loaded on to my laptop - If I download the app for Office 365 or use the online version of it - will it be a problem for me to still use my own program of Office 10? 2. I suppose I will not be able to use Office 365 offline if on the rare occasion I my internet is not working? Is that right? 3. Finally - say something changes in the future and for some reason one is no longer able to access the online version of Office 365 or the app - will the documents we have created through Office 365 become unusable - lost forever? Kevin. Last I looked I had paid for full family version of 365 and powerpoint was lacking functions like the ability to create quizzes under the forms functions?! I couldnt even do your tutorial on the topic :(? any thought other than me buying ms business to get the full functions? I was actually contracted to an aerospace corporation that was using the google apps suite... "Can" you do everything there that you can in MSoft Office, yes... The product borders on free for a corporation if you pay for their professional email/storage package... I would rather pay for my storage and use an office type of suite... When I would work on docs or spreadsheets for them I would create in office and then import to google suite. I agree with other comments here, Google could garner a lot more customers if their app suite was better.

I'm a little confused. Please help. You said if I have Office at work I can get it for free at home. Well, at my work we have Office 365, which is just the crippled versions of the browser apps, like Word, Excel, etc. But often I want more power that the PC desktop version would give me. So, are you saying that even though my work gives me O365, I can get the FULL desktop app on my PC at home? I finally am comfortable with my MS 2007 and updates on my MAC desktop and MAC PRO. Your video doesn't mention that when installing Office from Office 365, you MUST have the correct license for this. You can't just click on "Install Office" and expect Office to be there right away. I work in IT and I had to explain this twice to my boss.

I have many 2016 MS office documents saved to an external hard drive. I just purchased a new windows 10 laptop that does not have office. Can I use the office online to access my old documents and work on them and the save them back to the external hard drive that I can access offline like I did before with MS office 2016?

If your company has a volume license agreement with Microsoft they also most likely have a program called "Home Use Program" (aka HUP). With HUP you'll get a discount on Office 365 (or Microsoft 365 as it is now known as).
