Dont feel obligated to post daily if you think you are gonna burn out. Even one or two videos a week is great!
@RioRav
@RioRav Жыл бұрын
Yes exactly! Kevin you could do one vlog that is shorter more casual like gaming or any other of your hobbies or just saying how your weeks been, and one video that you put a bit more time and effort to. See what feels good for you and post less frequent if starts to feel too stressful. Different people work in different paces and in the beginning theres a lot to process as you are still learning.

I don’t have ACC, but I fell off a cliff and my brain injury was mostly to the corpus callosum. This is really cool to learn about, because finally some things are starting to make sense! Like the fact I can have a long conversation with someone and I remember every detail of what we talked about, but I can’t remember their name! 😅

Don't worry Kevin, my first night at college I was so emotional I cried when I saw my parents drive away. For the first time, I was alone in the world and that's scary. But, then I made friends and got a routine and ended up loving it :) Now I have 2 kids in college and their experience was pretty similar to mine

Kevin i think you're gonna do amazing. Like chris said the only thing that might get in your way is focus but that can be worked on. I have focus issues with my disabilities as well. I'm also prone to seizures not for the same reason but i can still have them at any time and it's scary. But we are all here to support you and help you be the best you can be. And don't worry if you can't upload every single day even pewdiepie takes a few days off sometimes and that's ok.I've been told by many people including doctors that i show signs of adhd so i think soon I'm gonna get tested to see if i have it. Because it would explain alot. I can switch from 1 subject to the next to the next ect ect and do it for hours i think it's annoying i hate it but nothing i can do really. That's why some of my so called friends abandoned me. They didn't want to deal with that. But anyways I'm bipolar with bpd borderline personality disorder,i also have anxiety/panic disorder,signs of adhd,ptsd,ocd ect and it's hard sometimes cuz people want to make fun of me or say mean things laugh or stare or just flat out not want anything to do with me and it hurts but i try to forget about it and deal with it best i can.I'm 44 but have the mind of a 16 yr old at times i also love video games singing(i love music it's one of my fav things to do besides play video games. But this is long enough just wanted to say I support you in whatever you decide to do. I'm proud of you for doing this and with the help of chris you're gonna go far i can feel it. You could go far without him as well but with him guiding you it's a great experience and you're gonna learn alot and have fun doing it. I wish you nothing but success in everything you do. Take it slow 1 day at a time and the possibilities are endless. Kind of reminds me of my son whos 20 now(don't know why but it does)again sorry for the long comment. Throwing all the love and support your way. Oh p.s. oscar is pretty cool i like his hoodie. Also to clarify what i said about having the mind of a 16 yr old being 44 it's part of my disability that people constantly make fun of me for but i deal with it the best way i can. Can't wait to see all the things life has to offer you. And watching your channel blossom and change is going to be an awesome experience and journey to go on with you. Everything said in this comment is said out of kindness support and just rooting for ya. You got this we believe in you. And chris is a wonderful guy so happy he's helping you do this👍👍

SUGGESTION KEVIN I watch a lot of KZbin because I have a disability where I'm in bed all the time and that sucks because I'm exhausted and I can't go outside it's just really hard. As I was watching this video I wanted to share something with you that I think will really make your videos much better and more engaging for the viewer. When Chris was asking you questions your answers were very short. And I think what you need to do is elaborate more, don't think you're boring people you're not boring people. People like to know a lot about what it feels like to be you the things that you go through because of your disability not just saying oh I had a seizure and it sucks. That's not enough information to create interest. So when you're going to share something never think it's too small or unimportant, and get into the details of it tell as much as you can about what it's like to do a certain activity with your disability let's say. or if you're involved in something beside talking about your disability get into talking about it really get into it. That to me makes an interesting content creator. So that's my suggestion don't keep your answers short keep them long and interesting by sharing as much as you can from your personal point of view. I hope you get a chance to read this and I'm really excited to see where you can take your Channel.

Hi Kevin, I hope you are getting great pointers from Chris. He’s an awesome person, and has done so much for people with all sorts of disabilities. I understand you get tired. Many of us taking certain medications do this too. I’m wondering how you feel about planning to do your videos when you know you’ll feel more awake? I love the idea of seeing your trailer. This will be so cool. Do you know if your school may be willing to let you interview those teaching, and students who are interested in being on camera? I know many of us are not aware of these colleges that teach people with disabilities. You have so much to show, and teach us. I will be watching

I have seizures at age 12 and all through school and you are right, that are scary and I was 22 before I stopped having them. But could not do what I wanted, but ended up in the medical field as an assistant so focus was necessary and now I really liked it. I learned to do things under a doctors supervision and then passed the test for a license. Now I am retired, 71 years old still. Take my seizure medication and live by myself. I enjoy your videos. I agree with Chris in that it's very important to post regularly. One of the reasons why it's important to post regularly is so that your subscribers will remember to check in with you, and they'll think "I haven't seen Kevin in a while! Let me go check his channel!" if KZbin didn't let them know that you uploaded. (That happens sometimes!) Sometimes KZbinrs get overwhelmed when they have to upload regularly. It's OK to take breaks! One strategy that you can also use is to record some videos, but don't post them all at once. If you space it out, you'll have time to rest but also still have content to post on your KZbin channel at the same time. 😉 Best of wishes, Kevin!

Hi, I'm a 32 year old guy, and I have what you have, but the part of the cc that I have is in the front. I surprise doctors who are familiar with the condition often because I don't seem like I have a disability. I've also heard different forms of "I never thought of it that way before" on a regular basis, to the point where it's really funny to me when people say that to me. I did have seizures, but not the shaking kind. I fortunately grew out of them around first grade, and I haven't had them in decades. First grade was also when I found out about my disorder to begin with. It was discovered when I had an MRI because I had a concussion. I started talking, and walking, later than what most people would think was normal, but I've never needed speech therapy. That was a bit of a double-edged sword when I was growing up, because my mom and I found out that most special education programs offered by the public school system were tied to the person needing speech therapy, so I couldn't get much, if anything. I'd be interested in talking with you about our similarities and differences, if you're interested.

I think I kind of understand, Kevin. With unmedicated adhd alone, it can be exhausting. I often use examples from the game The Sims to describe how I'm feeling. Such as it's hard to know the most efficient way to line up my queue of things to do. Or all my mood bars are red, so what do I need to fix first to start feeling better, bathroom? hunger? sleep? fun? etc. A good metaphor I found relating to cars: it's like my brain is in manual, and everyone else's is in automatic. It is _rough._ We (you) are much stronger than people realize. I am so proud for you for doing this ♡ I was looking forward to your discussions about mental health, magnet fishing and metal detecting, but an RV!? It is my dream to live and travel in a motorhome! I'm so excited about the future of this channel 🤗 In other news; man do I love Chris. What. a. guy. if I ever were able to have a crush on a public figure, I think it would be him! *EDITED TO ADD:* You know Kevin, it seems to be an American custom to move away from your parents when you're 18. But I need you to know, that doesn't have to be the way for everyone. If you and your mom/family enjoy living together, what else matters? Ask yourself why people are expected to move out after they go to college? There really is no reason. And you can apply this to anything you don't agree with in life. If it makes you happy, and doesn't hurt anybody, do whatever you want! Who cares what people might think!

Hi Kevin, I just found this video and just finished watching it. I thought it was really interesting what you had to say about your disability, and what you explained about it. Thanks for sharing that with us. Also, I enjoyed watching you interact with the puppet, and watching Chris do the voice for it. I think you’re going to do really well with what you’re doing on your channel, as well as I think you’ll do really well going through your life, and you have my support. Again, thanks for sharing what you did in this video, and I look forward to checking out more of what you post here.

One interesting thing is when the disability is all you've ever known, it's really difficult to gauge it as compared to normies because there IS no other normal for you. My eye has always been 20/400. I don't know what seeing out of two eyes feels like or how blind I am on a granular level as compared to eye-havers. I see people driving and can extrapolate "a whole damn lot" but nothing else aside from that.

I never thought about that but you’re absolutely right. May I ask if you have dreams when you sleep (my husband says he doesn’t)? If so what are they like?

@@mayneeyuh8713 Exactly like when I'm awake. Exactly as blurry around the edges and in the distance. Mostly sound and smell. But I'd imagine if you had vision and lost it, you'd see in your dreams because it's something your brain has already cottoned on to.

I've been enjoying these videos by Kevin! Each one has been nice to watch in a different way because each one is a different topic or theme. From tasting hot sauces to educating on a disability! Nice to meet Oscar too who I think may be a sloth.🙂

I have epilepsy and it seems to me that seizures can vary and how people remember them can as well. I have had numerous partial seizures throughout my life where I'm conscious and it's the most bizarre and uncomfortable feeling, but I've also had tonic clonic seizures where I don't remember a thing!

Thank you so much for sharing. I understand to a degree the processing things for a lot longer. It’s been a year since I saw a friend I fell out with and I still have nightmares and struggle. Thank you for sharing.
