I was thinking that thicker diff fluid would be helpful as you want each wheel to be able to dig in,add a little weight, small pinion for torque too. I'd like some tree backfips as well.

Flip the saw blades around so they spin backwards! They'll still do maximum damage but you'll be able to get the wheels spinning fast and slide around. Look at how they do in reverse.

Why not use blades large enough that you could keep going in the Event of a rollover. Everything control wise would be backwards but you already have experience with a heli. So inverted control is already one of your skills

smaller diameter blades would help along with a smaller pinion or lower cell count. maybe turn the blades around, it wouldn't do as much damage but wouldn't be so touchy. and finally, tie a rope on the back and do some sawdust burnouts.

Theres 2 Rc cars I would recommend to You. One is bit rare and reason many people started rc hobby. Can be bit expensive thou. Tyco Rebound. Other one can get cheaper, its very rough and seriously more fun to drive then many hobby grade machines, Airhogs Hypertrack. Both of these may be toy grade but they are seriously fun to drive and can take some serious beating. Tyco can be boosted with 2S lipo into insanity, lol. Airhog actualy has prop steering and throtle, dont remember about tyco as was long ago and they are very hard to find where i live :(
