I noticed you have the GTR shocks because you have a platinum/ultimate edition. The Traxxas springs are TOO SOFT. Check out VG Racing GTR springs. They are way stiffer and made a huge improvement on my slash for bashing and track use.

Hey Kev, ceramic bearings are a ton better than steel. They're worth the extra money for sure. They are wayy more durable than steel bearings and have hardly any resistance too.

Kevin this is only a suggestion. You should get the Tekno RC M6 driveshaft kit for slash 4x4 ( both front and rear ). This is what I use and I have never broke one ever since I put it on. Just saying :D

kev in heavyier cars use atleast nlgi 2 grease in the bearings they will last way longer and have less resistance under load. also keeps water/dirt out better

I've got a 14v snap on 1/4 in. impact, you can set the torque to just 1 ft lb and not strip anything

Need 17mm adapter and grp slicks. Gotta add some weight to the front and do speed body. Check out phillip jolley slash goes 170 on 8s

To have waterproof bearing fill them up with very thick grease to prevent water from getting in. I try this and it really work

proline thumbscrew body mounts and body reinforced with glassfiber tape and rubber glue (shoe goo or similar) where the threads go through for ultimate bashing body.

you can easily burn up the esc by running a high kv motor like 3800 or something on 6s. the esc's normally have motor limits.

AFAIK the Crawler edition is a 1406 can size, and the SCT edition is a 1410 can size. I think the 1410 would have more torque and get less heat soak.

I put the erevo brushless edition 2200 vxl motor and esc in mine running dual 3 cells on it . My highest speed yet is 85 not only confirmed by telemetry and traxxas app but also by a local sherriffs radar gun,that was 3/4 throttle with now tms active

This might be helpful, I skateboard, and on my bearings I take off one seal and put it towards the inside of the wheel, so if I need to grease them again I don't have to take off the seal, not sure if you could do that with your rc bearings or not

Do you plan on gearing it differently to actually reach that speed? Is the weight enough on the front to keep it from just flying off the ground? Can the motor spin that high?! Dunno, but it will be an awesome video either way!
