Oh my God, Dude. My request got delivered. Thanks a ton my man. You rock!!! As I had thought, your perception regarding recoveries and the Drills and Techniques to master them is UNIQUE, I've never seen anybody do this in the RL community. We can't help but want more from you.

Oh you've got this, I've coached even diamond-level players on the walldash and they actually pick it up with this method. It does take a few weeks - you gotta be patient - but it's just like speeding up your fingers to play the guitar (i.e. slow first with a metronome, gradually speed it up over weeks).

Hey Kev, just a note (you might want to add an annotation): 8:35 you mention console players can use the slomo mutator in exhibition. Console players actually got the ability to make free play slomo with the update that added ball controls to free play. You just go to settings while free playing. I think even a lot of console players don't notice this since you don't often go to settings while free playing.

For wall dashes I have found it useful to do my diagonal flips by holding only forwards and a directional air roll button. This doesn't change my direction while driving on the wall, but executes a perfect 45 degree diagonal flip when I dodge.

Hello Kevpert ! I am so glad you are back into content creation ! Your videos helped me a lot and I look forward to keep improving with your advice ! As a player who only used free air roll for my entire rocket league carreer, I do find myself struggling while learning directional air roll, particularly concerning the fast aerial take off. Any chance you could cover that in one of your next videos ?
@Kevpert
@Kevpert Жыл бұрын
I'm glad to be back too! What do you mean by fast aerial takeoff? Isn't that just a double jump aerial, which doesn't require air roll? I think directional air roll can be learned to a good level within 3-4 weeks. It just takes some commitment to training it, really just focusing on it in workshop maps for 20-30 hours total. Perhaps some shooting or rebound packs can take you the rest of the way.
@navajooo8184
@navajooo8184 Жыл бұрын
@@Kevpert As you said a fast aerial is a simple double jump takeoff, but I see you and others sometimes use your second jump, after the first tornado spin. Since pro use it as well it must be efficient, but I don't understand why someone would do that instead of an normal fast aerial and start spinning later (once you're already tilted back). Anyways, I will keep the grind with your awesome tutorials. I tried your new air roll one and figured out that I know nothing about air rolls :) Looking forward with the recoveries training as well!
@Kevpert

@Navajo Oo Ah, that's more of a movie to counteract the recoil you get from hitting a ball coming towards you... it just gets your car back in position for an air dribble. You can do it with normal air roll too.

I use only DAR with my powerslide being on ARR, it would be a wise suggestion to press ARR and ARL at the same time for recoveries so that you don't have to time powerslide right as you land. SSL 5K hrs, I've found that to be useful.

@Kevpert
@Kevpert Жыл бұрын
The skill I'm at is probably around Rank B+ (seems to be where we perform results-wise), but my mechanics are not really that strong, I just hide my weaknesses well. But my real passion is in coaching. I've worked with RLCS players in the past, and I think it's something I want to pursue. I like working with lower-level players too, and of course, KZbin is a lot of fun because the impact can be far-reaching.

@@Kevpert that's cool man. I respect the honesty . If you really want to coach im sure you will be very successful at it, no doubt. You could maybe even start a venture with Wayprotein ( i only mention since you two seem cool and i know you know of eachother / respect eachother) because I know hes been coaching in the past and has a good insight on the game like you . Just spitballin lol you're gonna kill it either way. If you need anything just let your community know. We gottchu man.

You're an angel, this stuff is so good. Any sort of settings guide in the works? I'd never heard your points about deadzone changing how many flip angles you can get. Or dodge deadzone allowing you to do chaindashes without changing direction much. Do you have trouble backflipping at .2? And why do use a square deadzone instead of circle?
@Kevpert
@Kevpert Жыл бұрын
Hmm, I can make one, maybe sometime next week? For the deadzone changing diagonal flip angles, check out this tool (halfwaydead.gitlab.io/rl-deadzone/). The higher the deadzone, the smaller the green areas, which are your diagonal angles. It's a tradeoff with consistent sideflips/frontflips/backflips though, which has implications with stalls since they require a perfect sideflip. Dodge deadzone - it's more to do with the corrective movement. If you bring your stick to the edge of it's input range, you'll turn more after your wall dash. So having a smaller dodge deadzone and shrinking the technique to do less corrective movements is a little more efficient. The diagonal dodge is the same whether you have a small or large dodge deadzone. I haven't found an issue with backflipping at 0.2. It's what Nwpo uses, and he was the first I saw use walldashes in that way. Square allows you to do the Maktuf reset. Not that I'm able to do it... But I just prefer it, been using it for 6+ years. Originally, Kuxir used to use the DS3, which had an in-built square deadzone, whereas the DS4 was a circle. So I did the same to imitate his movements.
