On the commentary dvd online (no video), Paul said the second round showed he was right to sit it out that season. The show needed shaking up. It was declining badly and he was bored, except when on Ian's team. (He and Ian also said when a bit seemed to go on and on it was probably written by the producer and that's why it stayed in.) :) I'd like to see the episode with Piers Morgan, which was also mentioned on the dvd commentary. They liked Eddie Izzard, on three times this season, as a sort of guest team captain. I wish we had more early episodes.

8:15 Ten years too early for a proper round of applause, but she deserved one.

Yeah that was really weird to see. It wasn't that longer ago that people shouldn't have been cheering.

24:24 "Van Gogh" is a Dutch name. They should either use the English pronounciation like Ian says it. Or the Dutch pronounciation, like Angus does, though the "a" in Van should be pronounced as the "a" in swan in that case.

Cool story, Bro.

Simgen x I'm afraid you are not ready to be put in charge of the software/time machine that fixes youtube errors from decades ago. There is standard British, standard American, (which both use "a" as in van but differ on the Gogh), standard French, and Dutch which bears little resemblance to the others and is very difficult for English and French speakers, with sounds that are in between ours which we have difficulty hearing, let alone reproducing. forvo.com/word/van_gogh/ scroll down for people from other countries including Britain saying the name. Angus is saying it in standard British pronunciation. Ian is saying it in the standard American way. Neither is Dutch, nor in error for the way they said the "a," according to dictionaries from the US and UK.

You know, that second round does lend credence to Merton's explanation for why he took this series off.
