Kev, I've watched all your Trent video's and some at your previous driving jobs, all are great in my opinion as you are such a decent and likable guy plus a great driver, I can see why you love your job, if I was still living in the UK and 20 years younger Id be doing what your doing, and for the same reasons you mentioned. Attitude is everything, and a good outlook on life, Thanks for this trip to Scotland I really enjoyed it, yes it was different but variety is good. You've certainly put Charles Trent's name and good image in front of many car lovers. I loved the credit to co-part, fair do's.

Hi Kev another cracking video. I used to travel the M6 / M74 every week to my work which was either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Up through Cheshire and Lancashire on the M6 was monotonous heavy traffic and boring landscape. But when I reach the section on you Video at 10.12mins it was like a weight had been lifted and it was easy interesting drive from there on, spectacular scenery and a relaxed drive. The return was the opposite! Reach Lancaster and the trudge starts again all the way back to my home to J23 M1. Looking forward to the next as always.

I was multi-dropping around the South Manchester area, with a 3 ton box van, and a well-known courier company, for nearly 40 years, and was quite happy with the job, chatting with the customers etc - but what really peed me off was the management. It was pressure pressure pressure, more more more faster faster, for a pittance of a wage, barely above government minimum. I'm glad I'm out of it, now - hung up my driving boots, and now I do what I want, when I want - or nothing at all, if it suits!

When that M6 Toll road first opened, there was quite some boycott. Absolutely deserted, and obviously the traffic police had to be on the original, M6. I had a brand new, very fast Alfa Romeo. The M6 Toll wasn’t like Howard’s Autobahn. I didn’t straighten the bends. When I pulled away from the toll, it was 0-70 as fast as possible. Or a bit more 😂😂

I can sympathise with the headlight bulb. I'm a newbie driver and got to my truck at 8pm on a Sunday night to find the head light bulb was out so was scrambling with the MAN manual and what tools I had in my car to swing the headlight unit out and change the bulb. The MAN was a large Torx 45 for all the screws. Lost a fair bit of time on that job before starting my the actual driving that night. Love your channel....its genuine without any pretence.

I chased both, I really wanted to do cage work to shops like coop or Tesco and earn good money too. I craved the physical work. After 2 months on crap money doing class 1 at Freightroute gaining experience I'm now at One Stop doing exactly that on a 4 day week (no Sundays). Home Bargains pay even better but I ain't commuting 45min each way. I'm happy to have achieved my goal and I get 10% staff discount in Tesco and One stop too. In today's current climate that's a financial win 👍

It's funny, Kev; a couple of times during this vlog, you mentioned that people have asked you whether you still enjoy your job & about halfway through, you answered that question, saying that you do! At the end of the vlog, when you mentioned having a bulb blow etc, I wondered would you retract your earlier reply to that question but I was glad to hear that you didn't!! I suppose NO job is without it's moments... 😜😄 Keep on trucking, my friend & I hope you'll never lose that positive attitude!! 👍🙂

yeah think doing the same run everyday like a robot would become repetative and mundane and like being a robot, and nothing new to see outside the window like sitting in an office or something. kind of what people think about when they think truck driver is seeing different places all the time. but sad truth is as an artic driver you quite normally got the same collection and delivery points, because the firms have contracts with other companies, so while pickup might be the same the vast majority of the time the delivery destination is the same as well, and too easy to fall into that trap with artic work. I am surprised Scott has such a high life of it with his bosses, but most of what they deliver isn't factory to factory, or distribution to warehouse, which a lot of artic work tends to be.
