The Twig is a great razor. Only issue I had was after cleaning it I didn't pay attention to the blade not fully seating properly then when I went to shave the next time I cut myself pretty good. It was all my fault but just a heads up since the magnet pulls and holds the blade it always doesn't go in correctly.

Well done! This is the second feature of the Twig I have seen. The first was by Jeffrey Smith. I am very impressed by this new Leaf. The Quality of shave is outstanding. I would also argue that it may be perfect for shavers who've never used a single-edge razor. The end result was smashing. The Cap Model Semogue is breaking-in nicely. I reach for mine at least once a week. Mrs Kevy's barbering skills are showing improvement with every trim she has given. Post shave was wonderful as well. I'm a huge fan of Florida Water. The scent is gone in 20 minutes, but the face feel is well worth the time. Thank you for this installment, mate. Continue to stay safe, and please extend my best to your Mrs., and Riley. Cheers!

I really like the Twig. At first I wasn't so sure about it, but I can't find things to dislike about it. It shaves really well and close despite being in the "mid" aggression class. It's really nimble and the cutting part of the blade goes almost all the way to the ends of the head, allowing me to get under the nose very easily. And I like the magnets 🧲 that hold the blade in place 😃👍 I hope you keep the videos going, we tune in for your personality as well as the great reviews and shaves and how to videos and experiment videos and "my top (insert item here)" videos and ect and ect 😉💈 Have a good one man! Interesting shave, nice razor. Just to add a twist I am now using a clean face flannel and using it like the barbers. A hot flannel before shaving and a cold one after washing my face. It really makes the face feel smooth and prepares it for the post shave moisturiser. Like you say time can be a problem but this extra step really makes a difference on how my skin feels after the shave. Not original , I know men have been using hot and cold towels for years but something which in my case was forgotten for a while.

My first shave with the Twig was very good, the second with (half) a feather, was poor. Despite a sharp new blade, it took a lot of work to get BBS, due to its inefficiency. It's medium mild overall. It does excel at getting under the nose, as well as eaking out the value of your DE blades. I was slightly disappointed with it but will keep going with.

Great shave. The reason why I can barely find the Willy blades on sale online is because they’re only made for Willy Wonka and he doesn’t want these blades sold to the public. The next time you get a new boar brush, don’t be afraid to soak it in cold water in the fridge for 2-3 days. When I bought an Omega boar brush, I tried that method and it worked magically. Try that method out when you buy another boar brush and let me know if you tried it and if it works for you

Received my Leaf Thorn today .. Damn what a nice shave! So did a full head shave ... about 4 day's growth . Used their (Leaf) preshave oil . Used Leaf single edge razor blade included in the package . Tabac shaving cream Absolute smooth shave! Felt no blade! Very efficient .. only had to do 2 passes! Just glided over my head! Only con .. handle is very slippery .. like in very! Had to wipe my hand continuesly during the shave. You want a good grip not to cut / nick yourself! Concern: some wetshave channels reported sqeeking when you turn the handle loading the blade after a few months. One even opened the razor up with some specialised tools ... mmm .. not in my mechanical skill set to do that! And .. found a lot of gunk and corrosion on the inside bits!! 😳 I do have the Leaf 3 blade razor and love it. My 1st impression of the Thorn: very impressed! Just hope the concern above don't cross my path!! Uhm .. used half a willy in it? Kinky boet! 😂 (Boet = Afrikaans slang for bro / dude)

Mine is broken in pretty well after about a year of intermittent use - these definitely are good at first but they get better with age and use and shed very little.

Greetings Kevy! I do have the Twig and it has exceeded my expectations for performance. I have the "Mercury" (gunmetal) one, but I think the silver one you have is very sharp looking. So I used their own Twig blade, getting two shaves from it, noted its mildness, then went on to use a snapped Feather to give it more aggression. Works just great. The only quibble I would have is I feel the knurling ought to be the full length of the handle and diamond knurling would be my preference for a more sure grip holding it in different positions. But overall a unique and effective shaver, and certainly a keeper. Rumor has it that the Leaf Shave Co. is introducing another razor, called The Trunk, and the handle will be a robust 5" in diameter 🙃. The womenfolk I suspect will be none too pleased with the menfolk in their using only half a Willy. 🙃

I was a Kickstarter supporter of the Twig. Got razor and stand that has small rod that goes into the hollow bottom. I really appreciate the unique design and easy loading of the blade into the Twig including the small magnet that holds the blade into place before it’s locked down. However, I have found the Twig to have a “bite”and a little too easy to cut myself - especially on my chin where I have scars from my boyhood testosterone poisoning and American Football playing ;-) I also appreciate Leaf’s dedication to not using plastic. For 1/2 DE razors for shaving experience itself I prefer the RazoRock Eco - although as a 3-piece it takes more fiddling to load. I’ll also mention the Broman from U.K./Portugal that is extremely mild and very easy to load. It does have a small plastic part on its head and likely will not last “ a lifetime”. The Broman and full-size Leaf are Holly’s favorites for her legs and many head-shavers swear by these 2 razors as well. My favorite blades for these 1/2 DE razors are PermaSharp precut 1/2 blades that are available from eBay or Amazon 100 in a small box at quite reasonable prices. I also snap Astra Green or Nacet in half. For an Artist Club single blade razor can also highly recommend the RazoRock Hawks - V1 (DLC SS), V2 (Aluminum), or V3 (polished SS). My son likes these 3 Hawk versions a lot and his favorite AC blade is the Kai “Pink”. Feather makes several versions and Schick Japan also makes AC blades.

That wet Willy really got in there & got the job done. It's not big, but it performs above its size. It's a real slick Willy. (I had to write this: I lived through the Clinton administration.) There seems to be a proliferation of broken-in-half DE single edge razors just now. I wonder how many of them the market can bear. I've had the Samogue 1305 for the better part of a decade, and almost gave up on it. It's the most luxuriantly soft boar hair brush I've ever used, and the first pass's lathering is consistently wonderful. Unfortunately, the knot is so big, and tied so tight, that the top of the knot is spreads very wide, creating a huge breach during lathering. Exposing so much of the lather to air just collapses the lather in the breach directly, and it's rare that I don't have to go back to the puck for each subsequent pass. The knot on the video's brush seems smaller than mine, with commensurately less spreading of the knot, so perhaps Samogue figured out that this brush had a problem, and fixed it. I hope so, and I'd be interested to know how this brush performs over time. Regards to all.

I’ve not as yet tried the Blackland Vector but many swear by it. It is expensive at over $200 and the design with the post being thin rectangular with threads only on one side would seem easy to cross thread and indeed they offer a warning about that. I’m curious why they chose 303 rather than 316 Stainless Steel - is it stronger even though more stain-prone? For those who might want to try an Artist Club razor at reasonable price you could do a lot worse than any of the RazoRock Hawks! V1 is DLC SS and has rectilinear top cap. V2 is Aluminum and has curved top cap. V3 is polished SS. None are as narrow as the Vector but the V1 and V3 are pretty narrow with full round posts. The V2 is narrower than any double edge of which I am aware. They all cover the full length of the AC blade from side to side of course. I have a mustache so don’t have direct experience with under the nose but my son has no complaints and the Hawks are his favorite. He’s especially fond of the Kai “Pink” AC blades but various Feathers and Schick Japan Pro AC blades work well too. Jeffrey Smith has a recent review of Hawk with Kai Pink.

The 1305 is a great brush, and I've no doubt it will give you great lathers as it has me. As for the paint peeling off...yes (!), I should warn you you can only put this off but I don't you can completely avoid the paint peeling. Personally, I have a few such like (painted handles) Semogues and I see the peeling of the paint as a veritable sign of good and honest use of one's brush. When that happens, you'll know your boar is thoroughly broken and it has aged well through full use. It's almost a badge of honour to have the handle with patches of the paint missing. On Willie (& joking apart) seems a very decent blade. And another thing: would American English speakers get the double entendre over Willie? Oh Kevy you can make us laugh ! :) Cheers and keep well
