Oh my God! Where have I been? People have said this many times & I have to agree, Icelandic music is insane. GusGus, Vok & now I have just found my hat trick band Samaris. What an incredible band, vocals are majestic, beat is deep & tempo is pacey. I’m sold!!

Saturday morning, didnt sleep well..Got my coffee..Samaris brings me the balance I need now.. Its nice to see how they matured and how much more easygoing they are on the stage.

Seamus I'm not complaining, but I wonder why they're featured so much on KEXP!? can't get enough of their hypnotic music
@nsjx7 жыл бұрын
first off i really love the programmed break/beat work on this album. it gives it a nice laid-back rolling vibe and creates a fine gel between each track. the fact that the lyrics are in a different language don't even enter my mind. all of the fragility and softness and razor quality of the lead vocal is still there. the lead vocalist understands how to use her voice and positioning to create a dynamic performance. big fan of her dreamy presence on stage... they each have a now characteristic way that feels like Samaris in live mode. AND i really LOVE the lyrics themselves. the words and the way the poetry works with the music is very well done. so i have the disc on order since learning about the "new" album (a little late). can't wait to drive to work in the early morning with this one. to Samaris: never loose the reason you do what you do and all the rest will fall into place. do not listen to any of the negative air out there and keep doing whatever it is you will do. thanks for another nice experience here, both KEXP and Samaris. keep going Samaris... life is difficult as time unfolds...but keep THIS going.

Bravo. Vues, écoutées et appréciées il y a quelques mois lors de leur passage à Paris. C'est toujours un plaisir d'entendre ces voix extraordinaires sur fond de percussions savamment ciselées.

I just ordered their latest cd, it cost me $37 as an import, I rang a chain store here in AUS and they treated me like a weirdo for asking if they stocked something that wasn't in their system, in other words, if they don't have it; it must be garbage. So I'll gladly pay my $37 to get this great music, I'm just glad they actually have an album out, so many bands put out mp3 only.
@NBHfilm7 жыл бұрын
I'm from AUS too. I recently found them through KZbin. Their still a niche band, so I doubt anyone would have their CD's in-stock. I just downloaded on itunes.

Scott Sterling I guess you forgot the word someone there? Even if there aren’t many people speaking Icelandic it still is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, at least in my opinion. Apart from that - this music works very well without understanding the lyrics. Look at Sigur Rós. They wrote one song with English lyrics but are insanely popular nonetheless.
