I love this band. Since my teenage years... they have constantly provided the soundtrack of my life. I feel like they almost write music just for me.

I know hw you feel. Been a fan since '92 and have been with me, as well as all of Dulli's other projects, through all the ups and downs of life and nursed me through many breakups ;) I feel so fortunate to have them come and play in my little mountain town where I live the past few tours. The last show on the '...Burn' tour was so great. Stellar new album, lineup and they still deliver the goods!

Just saw these guys rock the Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati. Perfect set. My band recorded our CD at John Curley's studio in the 90's and while we were recording in one studio, the Whigs were in the other rehearsing for the soon to be recorded album, Black Love. Each night the two groups would hang in the lounge area, reading Playboys and smoking pot. Very cool memory.

:-) I think if the Whigs were recording Black Love in the next room I would have just given up and gone home... Bit like painting a picture and looking over and seeing Picasso painting Guernica on the next easel...

I believe that mic was not the best choice for his voice. Very compact sweet spot.
@stevie38558 жыл бұрын
+fl6stringer- these guys play at maximum rock & roll volume. such a small room-the vocal mics were acting as drum room mics. Vocal mics have to have tight sweet spot to keep out everything else but it was still a challange to get a decent balance. What would be a better vocal mic in your opinion? Always looking for better way. Especially for quiet background vocals. 3 of them!
@fl6stringer8 жыл бұрын
***** Oh, heck, you got me there! Maybe my comment seemed more authoritative than I actually am. I don't have extensive experience in a wide range of microphones, it was just my layman's opinion. I've played on and off for 20+ years but gear is my weak spot. Much of my vocal experience has been behind dynamics..... sm58, sm57, and Audix om2... I guess you can take my opinion with a grain of salt but thanks for your informed input!
