I had the pleasure of meeting him (also quite a few moons ago) after a show in Montréal. Me and a couple of buddies waited to meet him after the show and chatted with him for a couple of minutes. We told him we were going for a few drinks at Foufounes Électriques, a legendary punk/alternative/metal bar located a few feet away from the venue where they were playing, and told him it would be cool if he'd join us. He told us to go ahead and he would meet up with us a bit later. About 30 minutes later, lo and behold: Mark walked in with his g/f and one of their techs. We stood up, he saw us and they all came and sat down with us at our table. We spent a couple of hours shooting the shit. It was fucking amazing. Like you, I feel extremely priviledged to have met him and got time to spend a little quality time with him.

I remember in 83 all my friends were listening to all this new-wave or cold-wave stuff, like Cure, Joy Division, etc... But I didn't really like all these groups. One day I went to my record store and heard Second Skin. It was love at first sight. I was seduced from the first notes. I immediately bought script of the bridge. In 84 I had the chance to see them for the first time in a small venue in Paris. I had goosebumps. I saw them again a year later for the release of what does which I loved, and which I still love 40 years later. The first two albums are my favorites. I saw them again in 86 and one last time in 2000 for their reformation. The Chameleons are part of my top 5 and will forever hold a place in my heart... ❤️
