It’s crazy how will just writes songs and can make so many different versions of them and they all sound good
@weirdskyreallyweird.55192 жыл бұрын
I think the reason these new versions come together so well is beacause it's not just Will. Will has total control over the album versions and then the live versions take their own form naturally through the involvement of other band members creative involvement x

Performances like this make it impossible for people to say “car seat headrest is will toledo”. Like, car seat is a band now and every member brings something that adds so much depth to the original sound. Ethan’s backup vocals keep getting more and more confident and on point PLUS his Neil Young part on this is so killer. The whole outro of this performance is so tight, the naked giants guys give the live sound so much texture. All so good. This is such a special performance that really highlights the level of collaboration between this group of amazing musicians. It's been an absolute pleasure watching them grow into what they are now.

That’s totally fine, but it shouldn’t be downplayed that Will has complete and total creative control...so where does that really leave it

Gabriel Michael I mean, Will might be driving the ship but to say he has “complete creative control” is probably too black and white. Making music is always a collaboration. The rhythm guitarrist reminds me a little of young James Hetfield. Just the looks, nothing big :) Never found a band with lyrics as sensitive and beautiful as theirs. They have this awesome power especially when you're in that transition phase between the teens and adulthood like I am to make you feel emotionally sheltered and hugged. Will's such an unique soul, conveying that impulsive, yet sensible self you can get to meet during those times. Great performance, watched the full one, now returning for a lovely tune.
