The crazy thing is that after two albums that were SO dark - dark and angry in the case of R.A.P. Music, full of despair and depression in the case of C4C - they made an album together that was so funny and joyous-sounding. I hope it means they're happier.

run the jewels is like generic rap for older middle class and up whyte nerd tech guys in america and europe. Its where el-p became gentrified to retire. Company Flow was for marker sniffing graffheads, in a pre-gentrified NY, sci fi paranoia pigeons, cheap liquor, blunts and dust yada...

I agree. The first time I saw a Despot interview I didn't believe it was the same guy who did Home Sickness. I actually felt sorry for him and thought maybe El P put him on as part of a Sheltered Workplace community service project. But he does just get better with every song. He'll be around for a long time. He may only drop 3 albums in 30 years, but they'll be dope albums.

I have had the pleasure of meeting & seeing all of these gentlemen perform all of these songs and many, many more live in 2012. 🙌🏻 That was before Run the Jewels & Mike & El-p already made tons of songs & beats together. So, forming a group together was a no-brainer. I have been to MANY shows in my day & I cannot deny that their show, in Cleveland @ the Grog Shop, was the best, most energetic, fun & incredible show that I have seen in my whole life. These guys are so talented & it is so easy to see how much they love their craft & each other. I have met quite a few celebrities, but I have never been star struck the way I was when I met Jamie & especially Mike. Cancer 4 Cure & R.A.P Music were the sound track to my entire 2012. Mr. Mf'in Esquire was incredibly cool, extremely drunk, and let me wear his chain for many pictures with him! 🤣 I love these guys so much & although I haven't yet had the opportunity, I WILL see Run the Jewels live & I have no doubt it will be equally as mindblowing, if not even more. I hope to be able to see them at a venue similar to the Grog Shop as well. It is a small, very personal, up close venue where the raised stage is not very high. So, you are so close to the talent & it feels very personal, almost like a jam sesh that you are just hanging out for. If anybody in the midwest has a band that they love stopping by the Grog Shop in Cleveland - you absolutely MUST go!! ... Alright, I think I'm finally done blabbering on. Sorry it's so long, I just cannot express enough how incredible & talented I think these guys are! They have gained a lot of fans & respect as Run the Jewels. However, I still feel that they are extremely underrated & under-appreciated give the amount of talent, charisma, & knowledge they have & not too mention how they have gone above & beyond paying their dues to those that came before them. So much love for KM & EP!
