It's wild seeing Andrew Savage perform live. He just goes 10x harder than he ever does on the album versions of the songs. I saw them perform in March and his voice has just such immense power.

Why do the vocals sound like they are hella far from the mics when, for the most part, they ain't? Otherwise the mix is great!
@Megamando932 жыл бұрын
Mix is definitely weird for vocals. First song sounded like he was on the other side of a tunnel lol
@devonc422 жыл бұрын
I feel like the amount of energy he has to put into the vocals would generally come out loud af but withouth that energy its a completely diff song. Idk im for sure clueless in regards to that side of things. It sounds pretty spot on to their studio recordings but for sure an odd mix sounds killer to my ear holes. Really regretting missing their recent asheville show

The social and political commentary in Wide Awake could have been followed up with a ground-breaking record. The universe practically spoon-fed Parquet Courts large quantities of ammo from 2018-2020 for what could have been an ICONIC record to follow up Wide Awake. Sympathy for Life is a missed opportunity. I still believe Parquet Courts is the best band to start in the 2010s. Somebody needs to make these boys millionaires many times over.

Love both Parquet Courts and KEXP. They know a lot more than me about many things, especially music. But talking about Screamadelica as major inspiration without mentioning Andrew Weatherall seems a little negligent. He brought his own tracks and fitted Primal Scream work around it. It's completely his sound!
