Key Bridge Collapse-Month in Review

With some of our earlier video footage and images - and Unified Command's recent release, we put together a review of the salvage efforts so far. It is a true testament to those teams assembled in Baltimore working to reopen the Port of Baltimore. The tragedy of the Dali striking the Francis Scott Key Bridge is still an open wound.

The Dali itself is massive yet it it nothing compared to the whole of the bridge. It just amazes me. Capt Andy your effort to show this to us has been so comprehensive and unique. Thank you for all your hard work.

I have followed this disaster here in the uk from the start, I am over whelmed by the speed this is going, despite having to pick at the debris below slowly, from the start of this piece to the end, you can certainly see the difference, thank you for showing this, I will continue to follow

Several things stand out about Capt Andy. Generally he's first to the scene. His videos are good quality, and some drone footage is spectacular. I wish they would clear you to get closer. This is the only high quality extended length video of the job. Saw a few seconds of unexplained closeup DOD video of The Craw working. It wasn't lifting stuff, it was ripping truss beams apart, apparently to be lifted by a more flexible machine like Dale Pyatt. It had sound of tortured metal.

Not sure what you are talking about, but there are some poles independent of the bridge that carry utility cables over the water..

More difficult because the sticks are stuck together. To get the top stick off, you have to first cut it loose. Plus the individual pieces are sometimes extremely heavy.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't look like any of the containers have been removed from the ship. I know they took off some, but unless you put a side by side picture of before and after, I can't tell. How many containers were on the ship and how many have been removed, and how many still need to be removed? Can we see an underground picture of where the men's cars went down? Why were they cleaning the river in a Helter Skelter way?

The MV Dali was carrying approximately 4,700 containers . Around 150 have been removed so far; about 170 need to be removed before work starts on clearing the trusses and roadway from the bow. [Update: 182 containers have been removed; the bridge debris removal can now start.] The water in the river is extremely murky, and the pictures I have seen that were taken underwater show NOTHING. The divers have a very difficult job. What seems helter skelter to you is caused by the fact that some of the trusses require a lot more prep work before they can be removed, so the "easy" ones have been removed first. I would of thought they would of had a new bridge design or Re design of the current bridge in the works.
