Cut keys on the express for a couple of jobs and it is amazing. Tried the framon 2 with a Schlage key for one of the same jobs Measured the original key and the cut key and the code key was a 100%accurate and the factory key wasn’t. Amazing!!

I have the Framon 2, and it is a very accurate machine. You do not need to calibrate it very often. If I could only have one code machine this is the one I would want. I think it takes a little longer to set up the first cut and change out blocks when changing manufacturers (Kwikset to Schlage, etc) than just inserting a different card into the HPC 1200 but you know if you make a Sargent or Best key with the Framon, it is going to work. #Lockboss

100% agree with the wider root of cuts. Not only to help make sure the user didn't make any mistakes on spacing, but also to account for how many cheap knock-off companies there are now. Example: Kwikset, Defiant, Gatehouse, Brinks, etc., ALL use a Kwikset key blank....but their spacing isn't ANYWHERE close to being the same! 😂 This allows you to account for cheap manufacturing.

The Framon 2 is perfect for making different cut depths due to imperfect pins in the kits that are 97% thru 98% accurate prompting you to take on the adjustments down to the thousands respective to the pin measurements, even the HPC Blitz doesn't have it as explicitly. EPD - Pin Size = Framon2 Cut Depth.

It’s a great machine. My first code cutter machine. It’s easy to get lost with the graduations on the dial so have to learn to take your time but the accuracy is outstanding and your basically “calibrating” it each time you set up your first key. Great video, JP. Now, after watching you explain the strengthens, it makes sense why the Framon 2 is more precise. I also think the user also has more control the making repeatable cuts that are not standard such as a wider root. Sometimes a manual machine where they don't tell you to cut is better than a card. I would personally buy a Framon 2 if I had the money. #LockBoss

I have a Framon 2 arriving today -- out for delivery as we speak :) After shopping around, the value added by all the extra included accessories (DSD info, dial caliper, Genericode software, extra Medeco cutter, etc.) is excellent. But what really sold me was the responsiveness from Phil at Framon. These are real people that will help you figure it out. In my experience Framon products are well built and non-plastic and just seem to work. If you're in the market for a non-bells & whistles manual code machine, it's worth taking a look at the Framon 2. #Lockboss

🌵🇨🇦 I have both a Fra2 and a 1200, and I definitely use my Fra2 more. As a hobbiest, I go more for accuracy than speed, but I can see and understand people that cut keys for a living may prefer the 1200 for speed. I have never thought about widening out the root. The FC8445 is 84° while a Schlage is 100° with a root of .031. would you go from (for example) .216 to .246 on your first cut? #LockBoss 🇨🇦🌵 Someone get this man a Teleprompter, and don't put this in the bloopers.
