30 minute gang over here! My hair has really improved from deep conditioning, allowing my hair to soak up water before I wash it in the shower, applying conditioner to the ends first, sectioning my hair, using healthy products, washing every week, doing a light conditioner for detangling, and being consistent.

I deep condition for at least an hour. And i use extra oil on my ends so that the dont break as fast. And i will normally braind my hair down into like 16 braids and leave it like that the whole week. but the day before i can use it as a braidout.

I can’t remember the last time I got a professional trim. It’s been about 10 years? 😱 I just got one today, and should have done it way sooner. I probably would have been able to retain way more length. lol I do ok at taking care of my hair considering not having it professionally trimmed in a very long time, but now that it is trimmed, I will do way better now and be able to grow my hair faster now cause I’ll be able to maintain some length. So I’ll deep condition now for 30 minutes instead of 20 and twice a week instead of once. And I’ll do better at moisturizing. I do it everyday cause I’m in a dry climate, but just manipulate it less. And more protective styling. Thanks for the tips. And congrats with Sephora 😊😍💪🏾

Hey sis, so I keep my hair in twist or plaits for the whole week. ( I don't go anywhere and really trying to focus on length retention. I do spray my ends every day and 'squish' the spray into the end instead of 'rubbing' the moisture in. How do you feel about that? Would that still be considered high manipulation?

Length Retention is nothing if your hair isn’t healthy. If it’s mid-back length but you can see-through the bottom 4inches that’s not healthy hair and those 4 inches need to come off. If your hair is health the length will come.

Single strand knots have been kicking my ass lately.. don’t know what’s causing so many but when I see them I trim them
@CurlieCrys3 жыл бұрын
yeah, I get them often also. One thing I'm paying more attention to is making sure I am wearing a bonnet every night (even when I am sleeping on a satin pillowcase)
@dorissykes84693 жыл бұрын
So..I know I should sleep in a bonnet, not touch my hair so much, especially with dry hands, but.. What do you do when your man loves your natural hair and loves to play with it🤔 I'm wearing wash and goes and loving it!
@staciegreene22622 жыл бұрын
Try grease on your hair !!! I know I know it’s shunned from the Natural Hair community by “natural gurus” 😒. But TRY IT , you will thank me !! Ends will be like butter. Also make sure you don’t need a thorough trim .

@CurlieCrys3 жыл бұрын
hey, I have a video on my favorite deep conditioners. It's in "My favorite natural hair products" playlist
@valerie90343 жыл бұрын
I’m gonna have to disagree with the time period thing when it comes to deep conditioning. If the tub of deep conditioner says leave it on for 15 minutes, they know why. It’s all a molecular science that’s already perfectly formulated and doesn’t need time manipulation
@toyinaina67473 жыл бұрын
No, do what works for your hair. The time put on the packaging is there to cater to a large majority of people so it does not account for the different porosities and needs people have. It is not really set in stone so there is nothing wrong with "time manipulation"

Love. Love. Love. Your channel, but sis help me out. Isn't washing our hair weekly too much? I thought washing our hair often strips it. I personally wash our hair about once every other month, if that.
@vee31333 жыл бұрын
Some naturals need to wash every week
@alee73223 жыл бұрын
I wash my hair twice a week on Tuesdays and Friday or Saturday. As long as you keep the moisture/protein balance you will be good. The products you use and your technique is key.
@CurlieCrys3 жыл бұрын
No, actually it is not too much, If I am washing with a stripping/clarifying shampoo, then YES it's too much for me. However, if I wash with a moisturizing shampoo 3 times a month then a clarifying shampoo ONCE a month, its the perfect balance! It's really important to understand what type of product you are using. Even throwing in a cowash one of those weeks works great for me. It all depends on what your hair is telling you (:
@kristymorrispage23043 жыл бұрын
@@CurlieCrys I am really new to this. What ingredients am I looking for to tell the difference between moisturizing and clarifying?
@MichelleIjeoma3 жыл бұрын
@@kristymorrispage2304 usually, clarifying shampoos are labeled as clarifying shampoos and moisturizing shampoos are labeled moisturizing. However, that’s not always the case. My low porosity hair loves the Giovanni 50/50 balanced clarifying shampoo and the kinky curly knot today come clean shampoo as clarifying shampoos. They do a great job of clarifying your hair and removing build up while keeping your hair hydrated. As a moisturizing shampoos, my hair loves the Shea moisture manuka honey and mafura oil intense hydrating shampoo or the innersense hair bath.
