Fantastic, as expected by now!!! Just like you guys said during this video, it really has that “80’s vibe” where there was genuine misunderstandings, crossed-wires, ignorance… and NOT discrimination, homophobia, etc etc, at all. It really does take me right back to my late grandmother (R.I.P, Nana!!). She was GREAT. There’s this caricatures of ‘young people’ being kinda ‘embarrassed’ or whatever, when their ‘cool, young friends’ met your parents, grandparents, or older family in general, and you would be itching to try & be polite, but, at the same time, get out of there a.s.a.p. With me and my nana it was the opposite. She was so funny, quirky, ‘trying’ to be cool, ‘till the very end. We all Adore her. If she were in a K&P Sketch, you would honestly struggle to make up her character. I loved introducing new friends (especially girls; for some reason, that’s when she came out with the true gold stuff!!). I really remember, one time, there was some big televised event, ‘live from London’. The singer Elton John made a big appearance (maybe even sung??). His husband, David, was with him. Someone just mentioned, “Who’s the guy with Elton?” In passing. My Nan, God bless her, wasn’t sure of the ‘correct phrasing’. like someone on these skits, she really wanted to join in, even so. “It’s his… friend!” She said at last. “Which ‘friend’??” “Oh, erm, his friend, you know…”……”No?! Go on….” It was like giving her her very own shovel, to dig ever deeper… but she Loved it! We did not encourage her, or do anything on purpose, but she came out with SO many great lines, unaided… “Well it’s his… you know, ‘special friend’. It’ his.. ‘companion…’ his….” She came out with loads of great lines, euphemisms, etc etc…. And loved it!!! That was one time out of MANY, but it came to mind because of this video’s subject. She was Priceless, and an exact embodiment of the sort of kind, but slightly ‘struggling’ yet super-well meaning person they are portraying here. Funny, wonderful, unique memories Gin, R.I.P nana; Also, a Great video again…. More Please!!!

6:06 - that reference to Camel Cash was hilarious. Idk if they would’ve been familiar with it being from the Uk. From Wikipedia: "’Camel Cash’, or ‘C-Note’, was a promotional ticket stuck to the back of filtered varieties of Camel cigarettes. It was made to vaguely resemble currency and could be exchanged for items from the Camel Cash catalog. It could not be used, however, to purchase Camel tobacco products.” Basically they were coupons one could collect and exchange, via mail-order, for various Camel branded accoutrements - lighters, ashtrays, cigarette cases, plush Joe Camels (the brand’s sunglasses-wearing, anthropomorphic camel mascot), Camel baseball caps and tennis visors, etc., and, for the big spenders, the highly coveted Joe Camel windbreaker. 😂
