People don't realize how awesome is Huawei optimization for their chips. My mother has mate 10 lite from 2017-18 and the phone is still lag free till this day. It can run most social apps seamlessly even tho it had a budget processor.

I had the Huawei Honor 8x from 2018 until it was stolen in 2021. Despite only having a Kirin 720 SoC, it was blazing fast and their software support is awesome. Personally, I'm a big Huawei enthusiast. They've been building their own ecosystem before they got axed in 2019 that's why they survived against all odds.

Huawei is on a winner even if it's slower than QCom chips. Not many people need that much power and bandwidth anyway. What mobile applications does an everyday person use that requires 5G speeds anyway? Who needs to watch anything in 4K on a mobile device? Iphone 15...who hell needs raytracing for mobile gaming??

btw 9000s can run Antutut bench v9. so maybe compare with other phones that way I guess, still 888-ish performance. and Only reason I upgrade every year is because of the camera and ISP changes, which I do believe that Huawei did very well with 9000s. so yea you wouldn't feel a lot of perfoemance gap considering how light Harmony OS is, and actual user expeirnce of Mate 60 series will be on par with other brands, is what I beleive.

I want huawei to get good again. I remember wanting to buy honor 8x but the ban issue was very fresh and i didnt have any idea whether the phone will still be supported. I hope huawei can make phones around the 300-400$ mark. Honor has one but its not a kirin chip. Hopefully the kirin chips are as good as the previous ones

I had a s21 plus with an exnyos and it was the worst. After a year the phone over heated and throttled a lot. I had to put it in a fridge and have a battery pack on me at all times. I got the mate 60 pro on my trip to china just for china use. And it’s heaven bro

You can disconnect the APK application package as soon as next year. The fact that Linux can run Windows programs does not mean that it is Windows, which is a compromise that needs to be made at the beginning to build its own application ecosystem.

@@drowswolley4661 except Harmony OS is based on AOSP, so your comparison makes no sense, and the moment they get rid of Android and ARM then their phones can't run any apps. There's a difference between emulation and running an app natively, I suggest you research that.

I would like some more performance tests to see how the mate60 handles heat build up. I would also like to know how long the battery lasts in standby mode I also am very interested in satellite calls. Specifically the time lag. How many satellites are there around the world that it can communicate with. Can it do satellite video calls

I would like some more tests to see how long it does last on standby. It may indicate that the phone has some impressive low power tech which isn’t found on other phones

Well yes to an extent, but they are questioning the yields at SMIC as the most recent reports claimed only a 40% yield on their 7nm node or for every 5 chips they make, they have to throw out 3. For comparison tsmc is around 90-95% yeild or almost all are working chips. However the reports of low yields should be taken with some salt as it seems china is wanting to understate their abilities to avoid more sanctions.

New chips always have less yield, even TSMC’s 3nm process node had only 40% at the beginning. The 95% yield rate is only obtainable on mature platforms.

I got the Redmi note 12t pro for 1600rmb, and it has the Dimensity 8200 ultra (4-5nm)...and it is a much faster chip...and Huawei is asking 7000 for a lower spec'ed phone with no international apps capability?? That is a huge waste of money...many Chinese phones offer much faster chips at a mere fraction of that 7000rmb pricetag...ie...oppo Ace 2...Xiaomi civi3...Vivo x90s (it has the Dimensity 9200+)....all are much faster, and at less than half the price of the mate 60. The ONLY reason anyone would pay 7000rmb for this phone is just out of blind nationalism..which is a crazy reason to drop 7000rmb on a subpar phone. That is like a 5000rmb tax on Chinese people who buy this phone. This phone should be priced no higher than 2200rmb.

Huawei's Kirin 9000s can be compared to Dimensity 8200 at max in terms of raw cpu performance. Efficiency of custom Taishan cores are also not that great.

Bro , It's not about low chipset I am an Indian and I am a great fan of Huawei because their products have top quality than other smartphone manufacturers offer.And their Hisilicon Kirin chipset is once the king among I phones.But due to US Sanctions they couldn't print their own chipsets.They lagged innovation and 5G services in past few years in smartphones. But newly launched Hisilicon Kirin 9000s chipset is a great achievement for Huawei , and Chinese semiconductor industries. I am concluding my comment by telling one thing ; Huawei regain its top position in smartphones within few years and Huawei is continuously working hard in some new stuff with advanced node processing.😊
