Breathed new life into my Ducky Mecha Mini by adding foam, lubing the switches (without desoldering), and tuning the stabs. Work is going to be so much more pleasant now! If I can make a prebuilt keyboard sound nicer, so can you. Thank you all for your support and helping me reach 300 followers!

Hey, nice video! I really love the board you typed on at first. I'm looking to replace my Mecha mini with my first custom board. I want to make one that's at most $150 - 200, and I really like boards with a design similar to the one you were typing on at 2:45 and the mecha mini (boxy, sharp edges, very clean, preferably metal). Do you have any recommendations? I've come back to the community a couple of times, but it seems incredibly hard just to find parts that are consistently in stock that are also good. Any advice is much appreciated!

Thank you so much for the kind words! That first keyboard is a Tofu65. KBDfans released a 2.0 version of it which might be in your price range depending where you’re shipping from. For instance, it is currently $133 directly from KBDfans, but that doesn’t include shipping which can add up. Divinikey has some kits available for $205, which can be brought down a little lower (usually 5%) with content creator affiliate codes. These prices don’t include switches and keycaps. For the price range, folks also recommend Keychron. Hope this helps!

can you switch the switches? I really want cherry mx blue switches but i have cherry mx red ones

For this particular board, the switches are soldered in. If you want to swap them, you would have to desolder the current switches and then solder in the new ones. It's not impossible, but may be time consuming. Also, desoldering pre-built boards can be challenging because they typically use solder without lead. If you have a hotswap board, then you can totally swap the switches without issue.
