Him going straight into Giant Steps was so funny...and amazing!

Are you kidding me? You had him right in front of his Prophet 5 and didn't ask him to play it? Forget everything else. I would give away my Prophet 5 in order to see him twiddle around on his for 5 minutes in 2020. This is upsetting. The makings for the most incredible keyboard interview.

It’s not Prophet 5, but he played Prophet 6 in his documentary, Coda. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKrGlp2upLOhqa8

Aaah the vault of an composer is truly a higher beings place the sounds of the instruments are like a good bottle of wine that has aged well to enjoy.

Rest well Sakamoto... You are missed. I'm curious to know, what are in the shelves by the window? They look too tall to be CDs, too uniformly thin to be books. If anyone knows, please do share

The sound is horrible to the point that the composer is unintelligible to me even with headphones on.. It would have made more sense to put the mic on the subject rather than the "interviewer". You might want to ask someone with audio post production experience about trying to salvage this with noise reduction, compression, and volume automation. It could definitely be improved considerably.

I should be able to correct the audio. The audio was recorded with an older iphone 4 from 2010. Let's see if OP will give me permissiom to edit the original audio file.

Giant Steps! Stella by Starlight! Tanks for posting this!

DO IT AGAIN!!!

ノイズが少ないのは曲に限ってはちょっといいかも。音のリリースは残響の雑音なのかな?

In this video: Nord Lead, Prophet 5, ARP Odyssey, ARP 2600, Yamaha Motif, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, RMI, Roland EP10, Yamaha Celeste, Kawai Toy Piano, and an upright. At other points in Sakamoto's career, he used the Polymoog, Minimoog and Oberheim 8 Voice, presumably on loan from Hideki Matsutake. He also had a Korg PS3100 and a Roland VP 330, Yamaha DX7, Korg T3, EMS Synthi AKS and a whole score of other things. After this video was recorded, he bought some newer ones, like the Prophet 6, Prophet 10, and Korg Prologue. Interestingly, he was in the ad for the Moog One singing its praises, but as far as I can tell he never had one. He liked his stuff.
