I don't have any powered up hubs and likely won't be getting any, but I'll gladly back this if it means getting a version for the control+hub later. Thanks racingbrick for the thorough review!

The PUp Team from LEGO also said in different interviews that they are working on a rechargeable solution for both the train hub and the Technic Hub. They are designed ready for rechargeable swap. So by the time the kickstarter brings out these upgrades we might see official ones. What I like about the KS version is the possibility of switching between modes and rotation direction but the drawback is the need for an accessible battery box which wouldn't work in a train that well. Would be cool if LEGO's version also had a micro usb rechargeable port and not the round port.
@RacingBrick4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't hold my breath for an official solution soon, considering the speed of development over at LEGO. As I see they need a proper set first to justify the release of such product, and it wouldn't have for sure added functionality like the different power modes.

Btw for the smaller hub you can buy adapter cables from old system, and stack them togheter i think, this way you have more outputs. not seperated but still.

I started to thinking is it worth to buy keybrick ( its not affordable for me), or maybe to buy lego 88009 hub, and some better recharchable batteries? What i mean is this, maybe for example eneloop batteries could be better than ikea ones? (unfortunelty im not good at electronics to compare them even on paper) eneloops batteries are used in flashlights for photography and there their have very good reputation.

The benefit of the new Powered Up system is obvious. The coding possibilities, no I’m talking about there not being a stupid servo motor that constantly breaks :).

I just saw that Lego released a USB charger, and a new hub (but seems to still be battery powered). But what could be the purpose of the USB charger if there are no usb-powered things for Lego?
@RacingBrick9 ай бұрын
Not sure which "new hub" you refer to, do you have a set/part number? The 88019 USB adapter they released can only be used with the Spike Prime and Spike Essential hubs.

I actually prefer slotted screws over Philips. Philips is the worst screw head design in the world, it is DESIGNED to slip off when too much torque is applied. Idiotic if you consider, that this always damages the screw head.
