To inform you about what your hopes at the end of the vid: Ultrakill's ost does not sound like that usually as this particular piece is a guest song for the game's "secret" level. This level is also probably the hardest level in the entire game as of now so one would listen to it for a good while lol. Most of the soundtrack in Ultrakill is done by the creator themselves, Hakita.

The Gods of metal whispered in his ear that pipe-organs is what metal needs for the most epic sound that could crumble the very foundations of hell. Upon arrival from his sojourn, our now enlightened virtuoso set about constructing the Keygen Church, so that the world will know the awesome power J.S. Bach inspired metal. Praise the code.

This particular track was done by the guest composer KEYGEN CHURCH and only shows up in a challenge level in the game The developer of the game actually composes most of the music by himself, and they’re all very good (especially the recent tracks for Layer 7, Violence) I’m very excited to see what the next track you cover from Ultrakill will be

Organ players are no joke. They have to be multi-task gods pulling and pushing stops, playing with both their feet and hands and it's insane. Also, they can do all that while seeming to not have to pay any attention to what they're doing. *This piece probably wouldn't force a good organist to use more than 10% of their power.*

This is a pretty unique piece in the Ultrakill OST, as KEYGEN CHURCH is only a guest composer and made only two songs (those being this one and another one named "ULTRACHURCH"). The main composer and developer of the game is Arsi "Hakita" Patala, AKA Heaven Pierce Her. The OST is AMAZING though, and it gets progressively better and better as new levels and songs are released. Its even better with context of the story, really makes you appreciate the tragicness of funny robot game

You bring a fantastic point about the whole orgam part sounding "like a real organ piece" because it was written as such. For a project that's basically "Imma shock the entire universe with the fact that shredding with a pipe organ is the coolest thing ever", it would have been easy to just coast on the fact that most people in the audience don't know what makes a classical (or baroque) pipe organ piece sound like that. Our man just went balls deep into the soul of the instrument and served it to us on a silver platter. Big kudos right there

ultrakill is great! TRS is pretty different from the rest, like other comments have stated, but the other tracks definitely deserve a listen! the "main ones" people seem to recommend are: * Altars of Apostasy * Versus * Duel (Versus Reprise) * Into The Fire * Chaos / Order * Pandemonium / War * The Death of God's Will (updated version) * War Without Reason so these would probably be a good place to start! (i personally also really like cold winds, the fire is gone, deep blue, he is the light in my darkness, suffering leaves suffering leaves / danse macabre, do robots dream of eternal sleep? / hear! the siren song call of death, guts / glory and requiem) (also jsyk people WILL quote max0r's "incorrect summary of ultrakill" on your comments for some reason. i don't know _why_ they do it but it's just a thing they do.)

Tenebre Rosso Sangue is in my top 3 favorite songs of all time, and I've watched basically every reaction to it on KZbin. It's amazing how everyone manages to contribute their own individual ideas when they talk about it. Some people mention similar things, but you all make unique and valuable contributions when you analyze it. Yours was no exception; you brought up some interesting things that I haven't heard anyone else talk about. Awesome stuff! Looking forward to seeing more of your content in the future.

It is Keygen, as in a "Key Generator" often used to unlock software. This artist is the alter ego of an alter ego better known as Master Boot Record. He creates it all on the PC, but for live performances has a band he is the guitarist for. His distinctive guitar sound is based on the old tracker module music from old games.

Arpeggios are a big part of chiptunes because we didn't have enough polyphony for complex chords under a melody and percussion. It's such a natural transition to baroque organ.

'key-jen' church would be the right pronounciation, yeah. It's a bit of a callback to early pirating software that needed a key generator (keygen) and sometimes they'd have music built into them that would play at the same time. Fun fact: The artist uses a lot of computer terminology, especially with their albums under the name MASTER BOOT RECORD that tends to blend the electronic/chiptune sounds with metal, much like the big heavy sections in this track. (I'd definitely recommend checking it out, since that seems like it'd be very much up your alley) :) -- Edit: idk if you have anything from Hylics 2 / Chuck Salamone on your list. but that's something else i'd recommend.

_I'm gonna probably end up having to listen to more of Ultrakill's soundtrack if they all sound like this…_ *Prepare thyself!* You will _never_ be entirely ready for the soundtrack in-full. However, if you want them all put together for you for non-stop listening, Arsi "Hakita" Patala of _Heaven Pierce Her_ has OST releases for prelude + act 1 and act 2. Search these two things and peep 'em out: _Infinite Hyperdeath_ _Imperfect Hatred_ All of layer 7's music for _Godfist Suicide_ is released as individual tracks. When layers 8 and 9 are finished for act 3, expect these to disappear or be supplanted in favour for a supercut of the OST for act 3 whenever Hakita puts a close on V1's misadventures into eviscerating hell for every last drop of blood mankind's best blood-fueled war machine can get its hands on. You might be better off hearing the music from HPH's Bandcamp rather than through Hakita's KZbin channel. (Yes, Arsi's _Hakita_ channel on this platform has much of the Bandcamp stuff, too.) Not only may it be of higher quality, you also can pick tracks individually with greater ease. _Everything_ for the OST is there, well-catalogued and without guessing which version's the _best_ version, because the best version is as the author had intended.
