Another very impressive fact is that he's only average in height but has one of the highest saves against shots at the top corners. Even tall keepers have a much lower rate. This stat alone shows how impressive the man is

He’s so criminally underrated because he’s not from a country that has an amazing national team. International tournaments are extremely important to a footballer’s reputation and media hype. That’s why for example Donnarumma has been so hyped this year; he won the Euros with Italy. Before the tournament pretty much no one would ever argue he was the greatest goalkeeper in the world. If Navas was Italian, English, German, French etc. he would more likely get the respect he truly deserves. There are so many great goalkeepers from weaker nations who never get enough respect.

First became aware of how damn good he was from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where they had the toughest group along with England, Italy and Uruguay. He was critical to Costa Rica getting out of that group. Then, his consistency with Real Madrid. Glad he won a haul with them before the unwarranted underappreciation from the top management.
