From my understanding, praying to literally anyone but GOD falls under idolatry, which is why catholicism is built on idolatry. They call it "intercession" but Jesus is scripturally the intercessor-they're basically saying Jesus isn't good enough.

The people who are made righteous through Jesus Christ will be able to approach God by being covered by the Blood of Christ. These are the Children of God who are able to approach the throne of God. Those who have not surrendered and proclaim Christ as their Savior and are made righteous through Christ will not be able to approach Him.
