Keyshia Cole's show was definitely back when reality shows were more "real" as opposed to now where damn near everything is planned in advance or done to have a storyline. I don't even see how ppl watch reality tv today.

Deadbeat parents love to say someone “turned you against me”. I had a birth mom like Frankie… baby, you did that on your own! I commend Keyshia’s patience. I wanted nothing to do with my birth mom until the day she died. And I did’t go to the funeral. Nobody gets to continuously traumatize me. I don’t care who you are. Sometimes as a parent “your best” is not good enough.

Keyshia Cole is a legend idc. 3 back to back platinum album in PURE SALES when Beyoncé, Ciara, Rihanna, Brandy, Monica, MJB, Pink, Britney, Xtina, Usher, Alicia, Kelly Clarkson and Mariah were all dominating the charts. Had hit singles sitting right in the top 10 with them. Nominated for the same awards as them. Worked with the same producers as them. Had Michael Jackson personally call you to say he loves your music. She’s a legend.

Facts and dead beat fathers do also. I know mothers should be there but so should fathers, in our race it’s way more deadbeat fathers than mothers🤷🏽‍♀️ I didn’t understand when I was a child why my dad was never there but my moms boyfriend lived with us and wasn’t around Fue his own kids but he lived with us but acted like we lived with him.🤦🏽‍♀️ I made sure to not do anything that I saw growing up. I didn’t like that a man lived with us even though we didn’t get hurt I just stuck by what I wanted as an adult and no I’m not perfect. That the only man that would live with me if I had kids would be my husband. And so I got married at 19 and I’m 42 now and yes I have 2 step kids that are older than my kids and I hangout with their mom and the entire family. We all good and always have been. She said I helped her with her kids as a woman and age didn’t know I was 4 years younger than my husband and her because they had their 2 girls when there were 15 and 16. Which now my oldest girls are 27 and 26. And we really don’t say step because I been in their life as long as they can remember and I’m able to go to everything that we did.

Which needs to be discussed.. will never understand the mindset to leave people behind once one makes it to the top. Will never get how it's ok to feel once you've made it or accomplished something that you need to be selective. If one starts to make money, they don't have to give to people who didn't or wasn't there for them. once those people are taken back to their humble beginnings, they look to those very people they left behind
@deasyastarr

She should not have had to do that tho. Wow, my heart really goes out to Keyshia cole. Her mother and her sister are nothing shy of absolutely TOXIC. And as somebody who grew up in a problematic family with some toxic members, I can honestly say, the best thing you can do with family members that are like that is just distance yourself, and leave them alone. They may talk about you behind your back, they may say that you think that you're better than them, but at the end of the day, there is no price you can put on your peace. I'd rather not have somebody in my life than to have them in my life causing hell and high water.

HOLY 4UCK I didnt realize Frankie lost her teeth from being abused.. Yo that hurt my heart.... Her story was always so rough to observe because her disposition is so happy and jolly and real at the same time. She was such a gem I hate that addiction had a hold on her and eventually did take her and on her birthday (dont ask why i know this) lol this is so nostalgic i haven't watched any of this in years. I'm in my 30 now but i was a care free teen watching this with my besties on tv when these episodes premiered. Watching with adult eyes is really blowing my mind. R.I.P Frankie.

The way I resonated as a teenager watching this show is crazy. I understood neffe Frankie and keyshia because my mother was also addicted to drugs and me and my brothers and sister were broken inside but I also respected the fact my mother left us with my grandmother and gave my sister to my aunt we grew up apart and I remember when my mom died and my baby sister asked why she couldn’t stay with us and my heart broke for her

I swear to you I didn't miss not one episode of The Way It Is season 1 and season 2 lol I was tuned in as we all were but Keyshia's story is one of the stories that really just touches me she didn't hide where she came from what she's been through she let the world see it and I have always respected her for that she let the world see that just because she's famous she's still flawed just like us all and she remained so humble throughout her career she never gave off no stuck up/cocky Vibes of any sort and although I've never really been a big fan of her music I'm definitely a fan of her as a person 🙂 ❤

Imma be honest regardless of ethnic background no one can effectively understand how you are expressing yourself when you are screaming and yelling as a means to convey yourself . This show was the first time I saw Frankie, and I disliked her IMMENSELY almost instantly. I’ll never forget the scene where Frankie was getting her hair done (that Keyshia paid for), and she was crying to the stylist saying how Keyshia wouldnt allow her to do what she wanted to do, while living in Keyshia’s house at the time. Seriously, I’ll never forget that scene, because she goes “I can’t have a man over”, LIKE, WHAT?????? And alongside Manny, Keyshia’s financial advisor was also an unsung hero. Because there’s a scene in the first season where Keyshia was talking to her financial advisor about getting neffie and Frankie into their own place, and her financial advisor was professionally saying they (Frankie and neffie) can go F themselves, as SHE worked for that money, they can take care of themselves.
