For those people who are bashing critics for calling Kgf series "Overhyped": The Kgf series is for masses. It brings some sort of euphoria among fans, because we are barely accustomed to such hyper-realistic elevations of a common man. An intellectual (not all) usually tends to look for nuanced scenes, which Kgf barely has. It may have one or two scenes which fans claim as nuanced, but that's just a relative assessment compared to the whole movie, which generally has a bombastic tone. So, the critics are not wrong. It is just we fans do not (want to) understand their perspective. The only Indian director you could compare Prashant Neel is Rajamouli. Even Rajamouli's movies are remembered for the 'high' moments. The difference is Rajamouli's movies are more mythologically inclined, while Kgf is more contemporary and relies mostly on screenplay depicting unreal heroic moments. And those fans calling Kgf to be a "Graphic novel" are just an emotional bunch.

The only negative i felt was its editing. Tooo much cuts within a scene spoiled the mood. Some times its feel like a music album.

Also speaking about the chapter 2, I felt that the pacing in the middle part felt stretched. I found the bgm in chapter 2 to be both the strength and the weakness of the movie because, I felt the bombastic music forced at certain moments. Other than that, the climax paid off well

The fact that Jaby and Syntell are relating this with Hollywood classics..makes it prominent that both KGFs portrays an era of the old times, as present in story too, the year 1951 and all that. Surely it's culturally gated, but Jaby and Syntell can relate to their own classics while rewatching KGF 2.

When KGF chap 1 released thy used to say over hyped, only elevations nothing in the movie, no story. But when it came in OTT platforms, tv and when youtubers started reacting to scenes or whole movie people went crazy and viewed all youtubers reactions, many comments were when ever I see KGF there is something new in narration, screenplay,.etc. Many felt I missed theatre experience. Now for KGF Chap 2 same reasons given as over hyped no story...etc when Chap 2 will be on Ott, tv and youtubers react again people go crazy. Guys KGF is something new. When we see other mass films which doesn't give that powerful mass goosebumps we remember and compare KGF. KGF chapter 2 - 1st time when we watch only scene elevations visuals, Yash acting and style. 2nd time when we watch story, everything Perfect on point. Then repeat mode..🔥

5:44, So true. I know, many will disagree but I didn't appreciate the style even though I got little high throughout the film. It's like a 2 hr hyped up fan-cut trailer. Jerky camera, choppy editing and this-is-the-moment music bits made me conscious about the drama or tension. And once you reach there, it becomes hard to enjoy the film thoroughly.

@@kotresh yes, I know and all that editing was also intentional to create fast paced moments. I agree, it's one of the styles and easy trick played in action films. ( E.g. Bourne series ) But it felt as a deliberate attempt, a bit forceful, in emotions. Don't get me wrong, it's a good commercial movie but it has its own flaws and won't appeal to all. At the end of the day, I am a person who enjoys good framing and lets the scene play out.
