One subtle metaphor I felt was the "Water Vs. Fire" phenomenon. Rocky is Water (or tornado if u will) hence he is given a song named Toofan alongwith 3-4 memorable scenes in rain and his relationship with ocean. He literally rose from water to kill Garoda. On the other hand, Adheera's entry sequence involved him appear through the Fire that didn't burn him. Garoda was also introduced as someone who sets houses and inmates on Fire. We witnessed this with RRR where messaging was pretty clear but I noticed it here in KGF too and loved it

People didn't know who Prabhas was until Baahubali took the world by storm. The success of Baahubali motivated other Telugu creators to make movies like RRR, Pushpa and many more. KGF is for the Kannada industry what Baahubali was for the Telugu industry and is just the beginning. There are movies like Vikrant Rona which are raising the bar for Kannada films. Even the romantic space between protagonist of the story and the heroine didn't give us the touch , but somehow her death caused a cruel rage to myself while watching it on the screen, it really made super sense in the writing and dialogue which she delivered it at the time was top notch as it gives the protagonist a purpose to fight for. Actually talking about Reena's love for Rocky was not only because of his loyalty towards his mother, as we have seen in chapter 1 she was already in love with him and was ready to be in the relationship but at the start of chapter 2 even though she loved him she was quite disappointed as he called her as his entertainment even though he said that because he didn't want her to be in problem because of others knowing his true feelings for her. As the story continues we can see her love when he was shot, her taking care of him and also when they were in the kali maa festival, even though she was pushed to apply the tika u can see a smile on her face when he climbed up the stairs. She actually loved him from a long time but didn't accept it as she was been called as entertainment and was playing hard to get woman but when she realized that Rocky was creating a lot of problems and was unstoppable, she accepted her love to make him a better person so that he shouldn't be in any problems due to his anger. As u said that her saying "congratulations I love u " was not that effective about her love but actually she just recreated the same love confession that was made by him to her in chapter1. Actually Reena has played an important role in Rocky's life as she made him feel the presence of his mother especially when she held his hand the whole night when he was in pain and also she became the second woman in his life to guide him in a better way and also she respected his mother a lot as we can see her taking risk to meet him in the mining area to tell him that his mother is coming when she was pregnant and even though her death was not in her control but when she was scared about her dream she clearly said that all the good things should happen to him and all the bad things in his fate should happen to her which shows that she was ready to sacrifice herself for him, that is true love. So we can't just ignore her as an unnecessary character. Yes, it was disappointing that there were no emotions delivered when she died especially it felt that Rocky was unaffected with her death instead it looked like he was only affected because adheera shot his child(mother) and Reena's death had no impact on him. But it's not like audience had no impact as in the theater where there were screams going on went pin drop silence for 15 to 20 seconds when it was revealed that she was shot and not him.

Hello! So after my second watch, I have finally come to a definite conclusion that's personal, but at the same time, had to tell because I think of it to be a feasible idea as well. Firstly, your reviews are amazing, hands down! Keep doing them :)) Now coming to my conclusion - 1) Rocky is certainly no more. His motger had two vows - he shall die the richest, and his mortal remains wouldn't be found. Both of it happened and Neel seem to have closed the plotline there itself. 2) KGF 3 shall focus on the 78-81 era which wasn't properly covered in two. It would have both him, Reena and all the rest and his reign, which I feel, is going to be another heavy worthy watch. 3) Salaar might not be the young guy, but someone who helped Rocky during the 78-81 era maybe in the US. My only disappointment from the whole franchise shall be the small time given to Rocky to reign. Just three years? And he died at around thirty :( Ten years would have been so great but nevertheless, the movie has created thunders and wonders both.

Did Reena's death made audience empathasis for Rocky -Yes. When the dialouge came that who will end Rocky's obsession with gold did Reena's name came in audience mind?-Yes. I have already written a big paragraph on romantic relation in ur other video. The brief would be, If she was not forced to kgf the other will use her to target Rocky. That happened as they knew Reena will run to see her dead father and Rocky will follow her. The entertainment part was also to show others that she is just for entertainment only. Though he kills the guy for stepping in middle and talking shit about them. Rocky has ethics towards women and children. He even clarified that he asked for change in room but never mentioned to be first night setup. Servants went too far with the decors which he too admitted. About the dress, well the guys in kgf were all villagers. The saying “Jisa desh waisa bhase”. He wanted people accept her so had to do that. And about crawling to his room and what society thinks.. Remember the story is of 90s. I think it’s really a good plot.

Prashant Neel once mentioned in the interview that meaning of SALAAR means - "The right hand man to a king, a general." So your theory definitely makes sense. Because we can see how farmaan admires & follows Rocky's principles. He sees him as his KING. And also in first look poster in SALAAR you can there is phrase written - The most voilent man called one man the most voilent. You can tell the most voilent man here can be Rocky. When Yash dies (maybe or maybe not) Farmaan will be known as SALAAR's motive will be to rebuild the KGF for his King (Yash) for his dream. Inbtw we might see flashback of Yash training him and his mind powerful life lessons just like Rocky's mother did to Rocky which we can see it in the film. I agree with how the relationship of reena and rocky was not developed that well, but I'd say she was needed. In the jungle of mayhem and violence that rocky had surrounded himself with, reena was his moment of respite, and I honestly feel that rocky was seriously love deprived, even though he had thousands of people with him he still needed someone to call his own and just be with him and reena was doing exactly that. Tho yes, his methods to get reena to his side and their relationship was not fleshed out at all. I have been to salaar shooting in OCP coal mines of ramagundam, actress eashwari rao (the mother role ) was spotted with same dressup. She even refused to take pictures.shoot was kept secretive and only few outsiders were allowed, The shoot was introduction scene of prabhas and Shruthi Hassan with a huge choreographed fight with goons in kiddle of mines with huge coal trucks, shoot was for 2weeks and the filmmakers payed around 10cr for singareni company for shoot in the mines.

Top notch cinematic experience.. maybe the only out of place plot in the movie was Rocky Reena romance and incoherence in Reena's character from chapter 1 to chapter 2. I felt they rushed through the political narrative in the last 20 mins or so but the symbolism in the climax was damn good. Adheera could have been a lot more menacing.. he looks a bit underwhelming in action scenes. Rocky mouthing Kalashnikov in the post interval scene was the peak of his swag! I truly wish there's more drama and a little bit less of ear-piercing action in chapter 3 so that there's no scope for nitpicking minor issues.

Yup, you're right. In the first part reena actually liked rocky but he was in kgf mine. In chapter 2 after he made entry he told her she is a entertainment to make his so called partner know he is playing with her and also he doesn't know that reena likes him. He loves to tease but he wouldn't do anything else with her consent. Reena decided to confess after knowing about him throughly and finally understanding him. Reena is actually kind hearted if you noticed her giving rocky's father fruit(I think). She then wish nothing would ever happen to rocky and she is willing accept his karma. After she die he literally snap. This is the character development. Her character is important to rocky's sanity at least and is it not one sided. Unlike puspa heroine 🤣😅

I actually disagree with your point on the car chase sequence. The cuts were perfectly placed and it trimmed down the sequence quite short. Kgf 2 already had more than enough of over the top action sequences in it and adding another full scale action scene would make us bored pretty easily. Also, dk if you have noticed this. I also have a theory.. The locket that Shanti gave Rocky is the Easter egg.. The first time Rocky and Adheera face-off Reena has the locket and Rocky gets shot.. When Rocky is almost about to die, Reena places the locket in his palm and Rocky survives.. Now Before Rocky faces off with Adheera in the final scenes Rocky has the locket and even though Adheera had a clear shot at Rocky he hits Reena.. People found the romance track between Rocky and Reena as a negative in the movie but in my opinion, that was very much important for the movie. Reena reveals that she’s pregnant which was supposed to be a happy moment in the movie but when Adheera shot her, that was the moment when people’s jaw dropped and increased the intensity in the minds of the audience. There was a strong reason for Rocky to do everything that he did after Reena was shot. There was a reason for fight between Adheera and Rocky. And also, that triggered Rocky to head towards Parliament to kill GuruPandyan. So, this is my opinion that the romance track between Rocky and Reena was essential for building the chemistry between both. EDIT: Yes, the way Rocky treated Reena in the beginning of the movie wasn’t good. It could’ve been dealt in a better way.

He can easily run away from that place with her leaving an empty KGF for adhera. I think that’s enough reason for killing her.

In my opinion there are few movies we need to respect just for the efforts that went behind. Dangal, Rang de Basanti, Gangs of Wasseypur etc. There will be flaws in every movie if we try to find. An audience is a best critic and it is very subjective. But to highlight the flaws in a movie which needs to be celebrated is not fair. Prashant Neel is having an experience of just 2 movies (Ugramm and KGF chapter 1). But the talent should be acclaimed and supported so that he will be true to his nature in upcoming days. If you ask me, the romantic angle had a purpose in the movie which led to a different situation all together. If there was no romantic angle in Mahabharata and Ramayana then there would not have been a epic tale. Coming back car chase scene, when I watched it in theatre I loved it, the jump cuts were perfectly placed and I felt a freshness. I would have called the chase scene ordinary if there was no jump cuts. Also the move needs to be wrapped up in 2.30 hours, so there is no scope towards character building. If it causes in increasing the length of movie then we say “movie could have been chopped by few min”. Not a fan of anyone but I think we need to support such movies and talent.

I have a theory about Reena In the first movie the first scene she potrayed to be a like a over the top , you know who mu father is in a sense a "BiTcH" . But throught the movies we saw her going softer and more empathetic after the bun scene and realised how much Rocky's mom meant to him. It was almost the same in the second movie. It might be due to the fact that reena did not have a mother (or might not have appeared imma assume she dead) and she connected with rocky because he was doing all of this because of the promise and love to his mother .. Saw it twice.. after RRR, this was probably one of the rare moments when I've watched a movie twice on the big screen.. I can only fathom how the South film industry ( Tamil+Telugu+Malayalam+Kannada) through it's Pan India movies will rule the Box office in the days to come.. there is so much to look forward to.. Hindi film industry really needs to buckle up in terms of storytelling,script, special effects and BGM if they want to leave a mark on audiences since they will constantly be compared to films like Baahubali, RRR, KGF and the likes.. However, the Hindi industry has a lot of talent and I'm sure that they will surely bounce back and it's the audiences which will be the winner at the end of the day.. Coming to the movie, I felt that the romantic track could have been avoided altogether and it would have probably enhanced the feel of the movie ten times.. the first half takes a while to get going but I have to disagree with you on the car chase sequence.. I thought it was shot pretty well and inserting the black screens combined with the thumping BGM does make it stand out as compared to an car chase scene done conventionally.. Also I felt that the final hand to hand fight sequence between Adheera and Rocky was shot brilliantly.. probably one of the better sequences along with the Kalashnikov sequence and the police station shootout scene.. Kgf 2 definitely lived up to the hype and delivered entertainment like none other.. not sure if Prashant Neel will come back with Chapter 3 but like they say, market mein demand hai toh supply toh karna padega boss.. but the ending of KGF 2 was quite satisfying and they can end it here if they wish to.. Hope Salaar will create the same magic and hysteria and restore the past glory of Prabhaas after a few disappointments of late.. 😀

I think the latter half of the year(maybe even from May onwards) will belong to the Hindi industry, films like Brahmastra, Ashwatthama will prolly earn well. Adipurush will release in January and it is most definitely going to be a blockbuster. Dhaakad teaser is also getting a lot of praise and Shamshera , Runway 34 and Laal singh chadda will also be hits most probably and than there are reports about Krish 4 releasing in December this year, don't know when Shaktimaan will drop though. So there are a lot of upcoming Hindi movies with a huge box office potential, let's see what happens. I think 2022 is going to be a lucky year for the theatre owners and producers.

KGF2 was an experience for me. In a multiplex never have I thought that I will hoot along with other people at the epic scenes. What a movie it was. Obviously some of the non linear treatment was a little bit jarring specially at the car chase scene and the romantic angle was not good but rest was so so good. The main cast, the people behind the camera did a good job. Movie is a director’s baby and Prashanth Neel developed it quite well. He’s the hero of KGF❤️

I think since rocky always has a plan b and since he meticulously planned the place where the ship sinks and a new kgf colony plus when in 2018 shot the journalists who tried to excavate the area in search of el Dorado faced so huge a population of angry crowd as if ppl still want to keep kgf impenetrable....so what if .rocky just pretended to die and is not dead at all ....rather since it was so deep a part of sea that his body couldn't be found and hence was just declared dead clearing his name from any records giving him clean chit to do whatever he wants ....as dead man can't be persecuted. Just my thought: Generally in movies, villain captives heroine to blackmail hero. But in KGF, Rocky captives Reena to keep other villains under control. Rocky is a criminal with brain, he knew what was coming but didn’t expect it to be this fast and about Aadhera. He probably planned the entire thing to do it some day but did it really quick considering the situation. Kotwal Ramchandra in KA actually went into parliament with katti to kill CM. Though he didn’t kill in real life but it’s quite possible considering the time this movie is set. Google about him it’s the underworld form KA. Both the situations I think are not going over board and are full of elevations.

After watching the movie- i realised it's not my cup of tea! I loved kgf 1 but the second part ruined some expectations. 'Entertainment', 'company, security were the words Rocky said as the reason to abduct Reena. The supremely powerful Rocky didn't need Reena as security. And what happened to Reena who declared that she loved rocky in the first part? The mother sentiment and iconic dialogues of part 1 were so apt ... But in this part, it almost felt as if the mother brainwashed her son to become what he became. I could not relate to whatever she inspired him for. When Rocky attacks parliament or whatever meeting area, I couldn't buy in the fact that story writer imagined such a weak and tiny, incapable police or army personnel who run away without thinking about their PM at least. When Rocky killed Garuda, it was delight, but why did the ever strategist rocky kill the minister like a terrorist. Absolutely no one had control of Rocky's decisions which were once blindly made for sake of his mother. Call me old school, but I really expected some self-less acts from the hero since his people treat him like God. No matter how big mining setups and houses he creates for people, they still have the poor and helpless looks. The palace maids remain in black sarees, as if them being allowed to stay at the palace itself was a favour done by the master. Rocky died alone in the midst of the ocean with all the gold and the storywriter trying to convince me that it is wat he promised his mother. It almost felt like Rocky was preparing for this grand exit since the day he started to rule kgf. Just like I felt that rocky resembled Raavan, similarly kgf was destroyed and dusted to ground my air force like Lanka was fired by Hanuman. All my disappointment is becoz I went gaga over the first part and the reviews given for second part were so great, I fell in for it. Couldn't support mindless violence which didn't have bigger purpose and yes the numbing bgm - a highlight of kgf1 but forced assault on kgf2

The one thing about KGF series that I love is how it has depth. The only point where I started questioning that was the Rocky Reena track. While KGF has two powerful female characters, The Mother and Ramika Sen, only Reena seems to be the portrayal of women in a weaker sense. For a strategist and a person with so much conviction like Rocky, he needed a better half that fit. A person who got him. I felt they could have developed that track quite differently. Though they tried some development with and pursued “only one person can end this” and the pregnancy track. I just wished there was some better chemistry there. Her death could have been so much more. Their chemistry could have been so much more than a person just wearing fancy clothes and waiting at Rocky’s castle.

Hey!! Jammy about Reena’s dialogue “Congratulations, I love you.” Is from the first part where Rocky says it when he first meets her. It’s like a call back. The love story is not in all glory cause that was not the game… and yeah to some extent it doesn’t have an impact on the story either. The reason her character is there or even for the love story to exists could be for the breath of fresh air from the hard and dark story. It could be the human part of rocky apart from the caretaker and leader of KGF. I kinda liked the way Rocky treated the women in his life and I’m kind of a sucker for stuff like that.😅 Well it’s content, which has been put out there and we don’t have to agree or have the same view. 😊😄

I really think the movie is well edited.. Even the car chase part was nice to be see in the theaters. Romantic song was unnecessary...while the time of watching I really thought that why would they probably put in the movie. Later on when the movies finished my frnd explain me that to grt emotional touch with the audience about the love intrest of rocky so that while she is dead audience can understand the pain. Which i think was a good reason to convince me

I've seen people going on about how the movie justifies Rocky's actions to kill people and get powerful and that no mother would want her child to do so. IMO Rocky did help the people in need because of his mother's teachings and did wrong things mistaking his mother's words to become powerful no matter what. Also I think the movie in no way justified Rocky's actions but only catered to the Audience that like mass entertaining movies. In the end we should be discreet to choose the good from movie and discard what's bad. Sometimes we should just sit back and enjoy rather than to idealise things in a fiction. Rocky's mother was just 15 when she gave birth to him, she wasn't mature enough to properly take care of child and instill good manners in him. If you remember the ending of part 1 the mother tells Rocky not to go with a gang for a fight but to go alone. So yes,she wanted him to be powerful by either hook or crook

Tried and refused productions you got the bedroom sequence between yash and the actress wrong as he asked the people working in the villa to prepare the bedroom in a good way but the people got it wrong and prepared it like a honeymoon bed which Rocky himself rectified with his dialogue-"Room thik karne ko bola tha lekin saalo ne honeymoon ki taiyyari kar dala" Are you not going thoroughly nowadays before creating the content? Agree with most of your points, especially the poor development of romantic track. I am of the belief that every action film, to gain a wholesome effect, should have a romantic plot but with proper development and execution. I like the potential Rocky-Reena chemistry had, in fact, from pre-climax scene I loved it too. But, the way this track is handled and connected from the ending of Chapter 1 to beginning of Chapter 2, makes it a out of place. The "Mehbooba" song, though, showcased their sweet and developing relationship, which I adored. Rest of the movie was, as expected, more than I could expect with a world class cinematic extravaganza. As for the possible storyline of KGFChapter3, the first theory is the most possible one. Other 2 are just too far fetched and illogical to be true.

I'm from Karnataka and have to say the epicness that has been created in the movie is never done before in Kannada industry I think it happened because of a daring step to go pan India and support from studios backed by Farhan Akhtar. Else I think this would have been restricted to Kannada Industry and the mindset to tell a worldwide story wouldn't have come into the play at all. It's great how creators and investors collaborated on this film to give out one of the landmark's in Indian cinema.

Though I enjoyed this movie in the theatre, I felt something missing. I don't know what. Chapter 1, despite being fast-paced, seemed much more effective to me after I watched it several times. It still gives me goosebumps. Its editing style has a cult following. Chapter 2 had all those elements, but I felt somewhere that may be due to editing, it wasn't as effective as the first one. I think experimenting 19-year-old editor with such a hyped project was a gamble. I wish they had retained the editor from the first part.

I completely deny the fact that rocky abducted her because in kgf she intentionally challenges him to touch her but he almost reaches towards her but doesn’t do anything winning her trust and love. She always tests rocky. As a character like rocky never abduct a girl whom he feels doesn’t love him but instead she is happy to cooperate with him. And that’s not an abduction it’s an elopement. Just my opinion although I agree with a fact that her character is not written long enough.

I just loved the movie but your points are truly correct first bgm in many scenes were too loud n 2nd that black out, it takes away the excitement of the scene n last yes Reena should have some important role or no role at all. I felt bad that we neither felt happy during her romantic track nor felt bad when she died 😅 although her acting was gud but there should be some depth in her character.
