My dad had mild stroke couple of months ago, ever since that he's been struggling with his speeches, memories and words but still actively playing scrabble on his phone. I installed the app because this is something he likes to play everyday, I want to be a part of his recovery journey ( haven't seen my dad for more than a year, we live in different countries) ..... Yesterday we played for the first time and I lose the first game, so so bad. So, here I am.... Anyways, thanks for the tips!

Thank you for sharing this! Sorry to hear that this happened to your father, but happy to hear that you're getting involved in the recovery journey. Wishing him a strong recovery. Also wish you best of luck in improving your scrabble skills quickly! Hope my video could help a bit :).

I had a bad stroke about 5 years ago aged 34/35. Before the stroke I was one of the most skilled video game players in the world, so this wasn't good. I then took up playing Scrabble because I couldn't play the video games anymore. I Picked it up very quickly, then I discovered the 'Scrabble Go' game which was basically made for me, and am now the best player in the world in the Arena part of the game. I am a freak at the Word Drop. Only person that can score over 2000 points at it. This is me playing that... kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp2apGCYh5dmirM

being german - which is the best language for scrabble, i believe, due to our long possible words and all those prefixes aund suffixes one can add to existing words - i once played with my best friend ans each of us managed a few times to empty our entire 7 letters in one stroke, and at the end, we were EVEN with 504 points each and only TWO LETTERS REMAINING ALTOGETHER. that was the best scrabble i've ever played.

It is a good idea to save the R E so that you can build a 7 letter word on your rack. Having an ER is a great strategy. Also saving the ING if possible, or the ED. With these you can build 7 letter words and get the extra 50 points! But don't hang onto them forever. If it doesn't happen by the time there are 10-15 tiles left, it might be time to play the suffixes or prefixes.

Saving ING is a risky strategy because it's an inflexible combination of tiles that take up a lot of space on your rack. It's best to do so usually on an open board or if you have an L available.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think exchanges are extremely valuable in certain cases. I usually exchange 2-3 times a game - retaining desirable letter combos of course. It's almost better than just lazily playing them too, because they don't go to waste...when they go back in the bag!

I play Scrabble with a group of people on a Wednesday night. I will be very honest, and say that it's not easy to make a word when said "I can't make a word!" This is a stragity I want to know. How to say open the Scrabble Board when you only use Two (2) and Three (3) letters? I want to use all my tiles in order to get a good score, and not lose time in the aftermath!
