Not sure on value, but Earle Combs is a nice pull. Yankee hall of famer, in the heart of the lineup for the 1927 Murderers Row Yankee team. And the first in the impressive center field lineage for the team. First there was Combs, then Dimaggio and then Mantle. Legit hall of famer too. Only played 12 years, so the counting stats are low, but he was a career .325 hitter with a .397 OBP. He only batted sub .300 twice, one was .299 the other was .287, 670 walks against 278 strikeouts, averaged 17 triples per 162 games played and in 16 World Series games (no playoffs back then, just the WS) he batted .350 I may be biased, because I'm a Yankee fan and a huge nerd for the Ruth/Gehrig era,but to me, that would be an incredibly sick pull.

Correction, his low average season was .282, not .287 But that was in his final season in which he played 89 games. In reality, he played about 10 and a half seasons worth of games.

It's interesting that it says on the bottom of, for instance the Bobby Thomson card, 1943 to 1949. But his playing days were 1946 through 1960. I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if that has an error. I'll have to investigate some other cards in this video.

Randomly looked one of these guys up. Max Bishop was in 2 World Series, and was born in 1899....about an hour from where I live. 😀 I guess it makes sense he spent first 10 years of his career playing for the Philadelphia A's. (I live in PA) Very cool and interesting product. Now I might look more of these guys up lol....down rabbit holes I go! 🤣

Its always neat finding out about ballplayers with a local connection. I grew up near Troy, and between players on the 1880s team the Troy Trojans (I believe they are part of the Giants franchise history) and some players born in the area, there are, if I'm remembering right, 6 Hall of Famers with a connection to where I grew up. And that's not even counting the more modern players who spent time with the Albany-Colonie Yankees (AA team) like Jeter and Rivera. One of the players was King Kelly, who was considered the sports first real celebrity. Another was Johnny Evers, of Tinker to Evers to Chance fame, who was born in Troy.

I agree on the names, but this is a really cool product. Id rather open something like this than most of the new stuff the big brands are putting out. I think the Rabbit Maranville is the best pull.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you see this product for sale elsewhere? Can you share the vendor name? I see a box for sale for $600 at local shop and am tempted to buy it. Not sure how much these boxes are selling for.

Yeah that would’ve probably meant more money spent on printing. Maybe they didn’t want to invest too much into the production of this one.

HOF pull was first booklet. Rabbit Maranville. He is known mostly as a member of the Braves, but he was also on a World Series winning Cardinals team. He seems to be the type of hall of games that maybe you just had to see him to get why he's in. His numbers are meh to say the most.maybe he was a defensive whiz. Had quite a few sacrifices, so maybe he was like a Phil Rizzuto, and just did all the little things that help a team win.
