Ronaldo should start a new prime that should last atleast 5 years based on experience and class. Ronaldo has been so brilliant this season. His physique is like a mythological demi-God. Media is certainly not gonna agree because they have sand covering their eyes. Ronaldo is complete opposite of what media says. And in his last 2 matches, he looked as fast as his juventus self. 39 year old Ronaldo runs faster than 38, 37 and 36 year old versions. At this rate, the best he should do is keep his head high and continue playing until his legs give up. As long as he has passion and no media politics involved, he can keep going for like ten years

It was no surprise for me that Cristiano would play until he was atleast 42 years old when I seen his run during the Madrid period, I could always see him resembling Francesso Totti in the future.. but I never in a million years would have thought he would be playing with so much hunger and getting involved so fundamentally at 39 and above.. its nice to see him finally get respect from those who were even his previous career-long haters. I can't see Ronaldo retiring until at least 42 years old, however, he could actually play until he is 45 (if he really wanted to) because he took care of his body much more than Totti ever did, afterall Ronaldo is a master at adapting to his aging body and positioning.. I can see him finishing his career like a Totti/Van Nistelrooy even Sheringham/Solskjaer clinical one touch finisher, once he loses his pace if he continues without no serious injuries and can get over not being selected for Portugals squad once in his 40's. Might seem crazy, but so far my teenage prediction is currently undergoing already.

I was a kid when Ronaldo and Messi started their careers. And i loved them both through their careers, but CR7 will always have a special place in my heart. Messi has always had the edge on him if we are talking about pure and raw football talent and this is the reason why if i have to choose between them i'll always pick Cristiano. He had to put hard work to reach, and for long periods overcome, Messi talent. First at arrive, last to leave. Never left a pitch without putting max effort. And a true leader, never seen him give up before the end of a match. And i don't know why but the rush of adrenaline that this guy give me during games and the way he gives me hope even in difficult games is something else. Messi never did this for me. And i'm not saying because he is not beterr than CR7 or bla bla bla, simply i always found Cristiano more exciting to watch and follow. I guess it's subjective. For these reasons if my life is on the line in a footbal game, i'll always choose Cristiano.,CR7 LOVE!^^

I sometimes wonder just how much longer he could've stayed in his prime had he never got Tendinitis. Think about it, he hit his prime - 2014 - *just* as he got injured. You look at other older players and while they may get slower and lose some sharpness, they seem to maintain their agility. Think Ibra, Dinho, Zidane, Iniesta, Messi, Di Maria etc... Ronaldo's agility has visibly been on a slow declining over the years as his condition has progressed. It's kinda sad to see, because he's clearly not able to move as fluidly and make sharp movements/turns to beat players like he used to, but it also speaks to just how good he's continued to be that we dont even generally consider his conditions when talking about him...

I think this way. For a 39-year-old player, he's doing great. Advanced age is a key factor in the athlete's level falling. This is true in any sport whatsoever. Few athletes continue to focus on their career at this age. Therefore, I believe that CR7 knows that he only has a few years of career ahead of him, and he is increasingly focusing on some attributes that he still manages to stand out, such as finishing and wisdom on the field.

Not a direct Ronaldo fan (RM fan actually) but need to point out the following: He won all his 4 Champions League titles at Madrid AFTER the year you mention (2014). He also set the Champions League goal-scoring record during this period as well. He actually peaked during the 3-in-a-row Champions League run with Madrid. There is video evidence of all this available to all to see and analyse his performances during this period. What I do remember is his concerted effort to change his game to maximise his output while reducing wear. This was a clear recognition of his advancing age and his plan to keep playing longer. We are seeing the results of that plan today in this video. He is probably creating an inferiority complex by doing all this today - but wasn't he already doing that during his most productive years at Real Madrid?
