Definitely, you should train yourself first, and make some savings for the expensive cycle. Yesterday, a 38 year old woman (Annemiek van Vleuten) won an Olympic Gold in Cycling Time Trial. She started cycling in 2007, at 25 years old. She started cycling after completing her Master Degree (MSc in Epidemiology). You can try too! But the cycles are very expensive. Where there's a will, there's a way. I too am very fond of cycling.
