Retiring at the top of his game, not wavering about returning, yet still firmly in the forefront of his Sport by Coaching his fellow countrymen to be just as dominant as himself, and in such a short amount of time to be considered the #1 contender almost unanimously is nothing short of amazing. Even more amazing, Khabib is a proud follower of Islam, which is more less fundamentally opposed to Christianity which would normally rub me the wrong way...yet again, His humble way of carrying himself and the softness of his voice when being interviewed also verifies his absolute confidence in himself and his team members should be held in the highest regards to anyone who enjoys the sport of mixed martial arts. Just goes to show, Judge a man by his actions, not his race, creed or religion. And there are very few indeed who's deeds match his words, and I feel blessed to have watched this Class act of a man throughout his entire career and beyond. What a guy. why should islam/muslim by default rub you the wrong way? Technically speaking, every single religion is fundamentally (i.e in terms of doctrine) opposed to every other religion, so it shouldnt just be islam according to that reasoning that rubs you negatively... that being said, the only religion that christianity has the most in common with is actually islam (not judiasm) where Jesus is accepted as one of the prophets/messengers of God born of virgin mary (albeit not god or son of god, nor a sacrifice) whereas judaism/jevvs have terrible things to say about Jesus&Mary... among other things... dont worry, not going to start a lecture/explain coz people arent generally interested in learning. You can easily research and learn in 10-15 mins about the basic fundamentals & differences between the 3 abrahamic faiths
