I must admit, before the Khabib v McGregor fight i didn't know much about MMA, and being Scottish, with a lot of Irish ancestry, i was hoping for a McGregor win, but im the run up, and follow up I saw exactly what McGregor was, and still is - a spoilt, arrogant, narcissistic man/child, while Khabib is a class act - a humble, thoughtful, decent human being.

@bastianm54786 күн бұрын
Relax man, Connor is a class act too, he only does the show act to hype the fights. Nobody cares about MMA if it isn't for the drama and Connor had to play that role. He's the highest paid fighter in the world of MMA for a reason. He HAD to play the evil one in the fight of "good" vs "evil". Khabib even "started" all the beef by attacking Connors buddy first. And I'm saying this as someone who loves Khabib. But it's normal to fake humility in the Muslim world, everyone with experience in the Muslim world knows this. An example. You have to insist on paying for something. And the owner of the shop insists that you get it free. If you don't insist back to pay for it, you're a loser who doesn't understand social conventions. This is all part of a larger scheme of fake humility.
@hazlicck6 күн бұрын
@bastianm5478 seriously...conor must hv fake it when he beat the old man at the bar...
@ianmacfarlane12415 күн бұрын
@@bastianm5478 Connor is nowhere near what I'd call a "class act". Someone who's a class act doesn't assault an old man for refusing a drink, before refusing to apologise and doubling down. His vast earnings don't make him a class act either - it just means he's got great management who know how to maximise his earnings. Regarding Khabib and his religious beliefs, they're largely irrelevant - we're talking about a predominantly Western combat sport - Islam is either treated with apathy, derision or outright hostility in the West, so there's a way that Khabib is getting a pass because of his beliefs. Whether he's faking it or not he carries himself far better than McGregor.
@brookeboe2455 күн бұрын
@@bastianm5478 McGregor has grown sloppy and is not a class act and if he played the villain at one time ok cool but since 2018 he has fought 4 times and lost 3 of them I believe. There’s a difference between acting like a villain and throwing chairs into a bus full of people like he did with his team back when he was fighting Khabib and having people go to the hospital for broken glass and then getting arrested, that’s just a sloppy drunk guy

As a former professional boxer that also trained at MMA gyms we just like hurting other men to feed our ego which shouldn't be normal lol. First time I beat a professional boxer in the gym I was so hyped and I wouldn't stfu to my brother who watched me smoke this guy every round (I chose not to KO him cuz I'm not a dick in training).
@n13kpolk2 ай бұрын
Definitely. If you train martial arts because it’s a passion then that’s great because you are learning a valuable skill and discipline that strengthens your body and mind. But if you train to be a pro then it’s all ego. Wanting to beat strangers in front of other strangers is definitely a little strange 😅
@smokestrong10002 ай бұрын
@@n13kpolk yeah but you do have a lot of guys who do dirty shit like Sean does. Intentionally trying to injure you for their ego. I remember one guy said to me before we sparred "hey man don't hit me too hard it's my first time" then the guy runs at me like a freight train trying to murder me with right hands. I told him that's it I'm done because I had already gassed myself out training before because he told me we were going light. 😄 Learned a valuable lesson that day. If I don't know you and you ask to spar we aren't holding back we're going 100 percent cuz too many randos pop up in the gym and you can't trust them to do light sparring.
