*I mean, McGregor picked Dustin apart for the majority of the rematch.* He got a dead leg, and couldn’t stand on it; and it buckled. He was out for a year and came back to piece up the best ACTIVE (for years) lightweight. Even in the trilogy, he out struck Dustin 22-5 on the feet, and even landed 9/10 on the ground. While Dustin only landed 40% of his ground strikes (many of which hit the elbows or chest), and landed only 32% of his strikes on the feet. Plus, that’s including the end of the fight when McGregor had snapped his ankle and Dustin got the last shots in. It’s very clear that people are just hating on McGregor. He has fixed his cardio deficiencies and has learned to switch between the different energies systems that the body can use. He was never in danger on the feet or on the ground. He was evidently prepared for 5 rounds until that tragic injury. Conor’s biggest problem is 1. Doing too much boxing (which he was preparing for a Pac-Man fight), 2. Not having world class fighters around him (he hasn’t even had Dillon or Artem because they’ve been injured or had we’re fine but had COVID and couldn’t join the camp). He needs to cut that boxing coach (not Roddy, but the old bloke Phil), he needs to revitalise his movement (with Ido Portal), do some offensive BJJ (particularly leg locks as they’re defensive but also present a possible submission); and work on his wrestling. All of these other fighters have the advantage of being active and being at ATT/AKA; and having world class fighters to train with, compared to a guy whose lost his passion and wants to be a family man etc.

@bts_sf2 жыл бұрын
The "drama" and the "bullshit" are to attract people into the fight, to get people hooked and increase the hype of the fight, people enjoy seeing two people talk shit and then face each other, in this world the words of forked tongues moves its fans. Everything is a show, everything is impersonal. So, that they do not create drama or do not criticize each other, it means absolutely nothing. More bullshit, more audience, more audience, more money for both, a mutual benefit even for the losing opponent. The more shit they talk, the more people will expect to see the outcome of their fights, and Conor McGregor understands that very well.

I've watched this fight many times and what was apparent to me the first time, just as it is on my 10th time, it seemed like khabib didn't go full out with the ground and pound during certain positions, as if he was almost being easy due to the respect he had for Dustin. You can say that sounds foolish, but we all know he chose not to break gaethjes arm in front of his parents, choosing instead to just put him down for a nap. Khabib may not be the GOAT due to fighting a few tomatoe cans, but if someone believes that they're not wrong. He fought stellar competition from RDA and on. The thing is, he made the tomatoe cans look the same as the very best in the UFC, so it's just a shame we didn't get the honor to watch him fight longer.

I can't lie. People always say about Conor being mauled in that 2nd round ground and pound and that was heavy duty. But the way Khabib just snaked around Poirier at every turn and just aggressively latched onto him and neck cranked him and all sorts is honestly a little difficult to watch. Seeing Poirier, a world class fighter, being absolutely bent over like that on the floor is utterly savage. His face at the submission, it looks like his soul is leaving his body. Again, people say about Conor being mauled but he looked more disappointed and deflated after the neck crank and Khabib screaming at him, Poirier looked utterly spent.
