I heard this Fantastic Concerto by the incomparable Khatchaturian for the 1st time Live in 1978 w/ the sadly late Eugene Fodor and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. A mind blowing experience.

The Khatchaturian Violin Concerto will be on the program this Tuesday evening’s program for the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. Also to be played are Khatchaturian’s Spartacus suite No 2 and Stravinsky’s Firebird suite of 1919.
