I recently met this guy, about 5 months ago, who totally lovestruck me. It was gradual but as I saw and talked to him more, my feelings grew deeper. Recently, I had to leave the place we were working together and there's not really a way to stay in touch. I thought of confessing but in the end i walked away deciding to leave the whole thing open ended. I figured that, if its meant to be then he will come back into my life. I'm not normally one to leave sappy messages like this in such a public space, but I found this song on spotify a few days, looking for studio ghibli lofi to help myself fall asleep. Lame, I know haha. Anyway, I found this, and it struck such a strong chord with me, I've been listening to it on repeat a few times every day since. After thinking about it, I realized it's because this song so wonderfully captured why studio ghibli has become such a magical thing for me. My first ghibli film was spirited away. Im a really late bloomer on movies, so I saw it during ghibli fest,I was about 22 at the time, like the year before the global covid shutdowns. But I was supposed to watch it with a date. I hadn't been with anyone romantically in years and that was like my third attempt that year at trying to get myself out there, and like the past times, they cancelled last minute. This time, as I was walking into the movie theater and they probably never intended to leave home. It sucked, so I ended watching my first ever ghibli film in a movie, alone. But the music, and child like fantasy was so alluring, I didnt mind as much. Fast forward a couple years, and I was dating someone who I'd argue was my first really healthy relationship. Things weren't perfect, but we clicked well and there was an earlier point with a lot more smiles. She was also absolutely in love with ghibli films, to the point that she had a dvd set with like 20 different movies or something. While we were together, we watched a few of them, some I liked, some I didn't. Eventually, that relationship fell apart. Covid hit me mentally and financially in rough ways, and I didnt cope with it well. My best friend and roomate of the time found out he had stage two cancer, and I was most of what he had for help during that time. I cracked, and made that everyone's problem but my own. So she was right to leave, but still sucked I guess. Some more time has passed sense, I started taking jiu jitsu classes to help with stress and a sense of purpose, I go to the gym 5-6 days a week, I have a job I'm much happier at with a lot of cool, like minded people, who even invited me to their DnD games they have now and then. I also found another partner, one I'm more compatible with, and one I'm emotionally ready to be with. Then, When I'm having trouble sleeping one night, I find this song, and my heart soared. I was able to close my eyes and remind myself, I'm going to be ok. And I think that's enough for now. I'm starting to feel like I'm enough, and that's a sort of fantasy I've dreamed of for a long time.

I don’t think that’s lame, this song strikes a chord with me too. I’m now officially an adult now as I just graduated high school and in the midst of realizing I won’t see some of the people whom I cherish the most ever again. I’ve made a lot of connections at this school and especially my last school back in Texas and saying goodbye is something I dread severely. Im pretty hard on myself both academically and when it comes to being considerate of those around me which me I don’t allow myself to feel sad or angry out of fear that I’m being selfish and inconsiderate. I think this started when my mom passed away when I was around 10. This song just opens a piece of my heart in a way that makes me feel sad but also happy, that despite me having to say goodbye I’ll have the awesome memories of when I knew them and remember them fondly ❤️
