Whenever Galiyat hiking trails are discussed, pipeline track surfaces invariably. Commonly tourists opt for its more developed and relatively shorter section between Donga Gali and Ayubia, which has been beautified with guard rails and a standard width. The surface also gets attended to regularly.
However the section shown in this video doesn't enjoy lot of presence on the web and remains oblivious to common tourists. Probably that has kept it pristine and untouched. A good deal of its length remains unspoilt and thus occasional sighting of wildlife is a common occurrence. The monkeys you see here do not belong to the groups vandalising highways and harassing tourists. Here the shyness of wild life proves my point as is obvious in the video. I have gone over this track few times before as well, however this time around found very welcoming gates which have been erected at both ends by Forest Department.
Keep in mind that track starts from Jandala village on Khaira Gali side and from the tunnel on Ayubia end. Both terminals are 8 KMs or 5 Miles apart. I took my start from Khaira Gali Colony adding some 4 KMs to the journey. Elevation gain is nominal and altitude is hardly felt. An average healthy person can do it very conveniently. The flora and fauna observed on the track is beautiful with water streams, crossing the track every now and then. This track is historically associated with pre-partition era, and serves the populace of Murree Hills perennially with water supply still. Hope you enjoy the video!
