Hi everyone!
If you guys were wondering where i have been missing, actually I have just recovered from Covid 19 symptoms and still regaining my energy back to work and making vlogs. It was an unpleasant experience going through it but thankfully i managed to gradually recovered. In this vlog, I want to show you guys life as a banker as transparent as possible. It may not be a similar to other bankers out there but this is merely my experience working with this company. My first few years out of college were very similar to this. Until our processes and team got to a point where we were functioning in a healthy way, we were always overworked. Once I took over the position my boss had and became the manager of the team, I spent almost two weeks straight just getting our processes in order to ensure that no one would have to overwork again.

This vlog hits reality so hard. I know previously uve shown aesthetic life everyone would dream of. But in reality it’s not all rainbows. There’s hard works and struggles behind. Don’t feel bad to complain, its ok to let out the exhaustion. I just wish ull get a better job with decent pay, work-life balance, good bosses and colleague and so many good things u deserve to!

Of all your vlogs, I really like this one since it is relatable. I am also a Banker here in the Philippines and I can say that it is not that easy. At some point, we question the life we have and we reflect if it is really the life we want! Being a Banker is so stressful, that is why I see to it that every year, I take some time to spend vacation abroad or just a local trip to maintain my sanity and to have a reset in my life. I am glad that every after vacation, I am really motivated to be back at work and to plan again for the next vacation. I suggest that you should take a vacation! You deserve it! God/Allah bless you!

Hai Ian I'm actually grateful that you said this. I don't work in a bank but i do work in a corporate job where I also question my life every single day. It's hectic, stressfull, tiring, etc. But just like what you said, maybe i do need a vacation to refresh everything. Taking a day off wasn't enough it just makes me angry, anxious and less motivated to go to work the next day. Figured a vacation might work well. Thanks Ian 🤍🤍

I've been in the same position as you early this year and I've decided that I'm not mentally ready to live this kind of lifestyle for another year. And fortunately for me, a friend of mine contacted me asking me if I'd like to interview for a role at their company as they have a position open. I did it, even though like you, I wasn't bold enough to leave my company behind. It went well and it was a higher position, better management, and the environment overall felt very relaxed and flexible. I left about 3 months ago and I'm happy with the new place. Advice from me to you: don't leave until you have a back-up offer. :-) Good luck & love your vlogs!

Another well edited vlog 👏🏾 👏🏾. Your work schedule is very demanding. I apologize if this seems rude in any way, you should look into something else, (if working less isnt an option)especially if you're unhappy and/or dissatisfied. You've stated in past videos you have a family home thats paid for and that you are careful with your expenses. I just recently (as of a month ago) switched my job at an outdoor nursery to overnight security work. It's done wonders for my mental health and general happiness. Unfortunately, life is difficult enough already, without adding undue stress upon stress, in your case from a tiring job. And while money is of course important, your health in all respects, is worth much more and isn't something that can be retrieved once it's gone. Keep up the good work. 👍🏾

I can feel you. even though that kind of life is mostly everyone want to work in a Bank but the way have to work over the wekeends is a different story. nothing is more tired than working on wekeend ♥️. but just try to figure out if thats what u really want for the rest of your life. for just enjoy and be grateful for what u have. u have car good place to live money to buy food or wants gadgets but I know deep inside its empty. carry on and figure out yourself. take ur time and i know u will know at the end what is it that u want im life.. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

You deserve to be complaining. This is not a worthy job nor the lifestyle you have to endure. There are so many jobs out there that you can earn much more than being a banker, very very healthy work life balance, and you can work anywhere with no micromanagement (maybe have to come to office once or twice a week, but that's it). I, myself work in a startup and even the content creators in my company, are paid much more than bankers plus additional commission. But I understand you have a bond to serve.

I once worked in the same company as you but in the hq office. Honestly you’re so strong that you can work there for more than 1 month. I only lasted in that company for 1 month and my mental health is deteriorating so bad at that time. The whole vibe of it and the people there are something else. I hope you will get through this phase in life and may Allah give you, a job that can make you happy and content.

All I want for my weekend after 5 WEAKdays is to be on my most laziest attire and lying on the bed with pillow top, probably watching You Tube, TikTok or Netflix. i used to be an exec at one of overseas bank, the workload is crazy as hell, always finish my task at 11pm and above, sometimes need to OT at weekend until I burnout. After 2 years, I decide to move on from this crazy work and got a new job at BPO. My life is doing good now, but tbh i missed my environment to work at bank again, but whenever im thinking how the unworth life balance it’s, haaha i forget my intention to work as a banker anymore. Maybe can, but need to find another dept that kinda have more work life balance :) anyway, stay strong khai, take this opportunity and experience as much as you can then u can move at other places that know your worth!

Hey Khai, I was in your shoes once and thought it was normal due to the hustle culture that my country and colleagues kept talking about. Ultimately, I had a severe burnout which led me to contemplate my life's purpose. I realised it was not sustainable for my well-being and happiness which in turn pushed me to quit my job. After I sent my resignation, I quickly realised that we are always replaceable. You only have one life, man. If you have the capacity, jump to another better job which emphasizes on work life balance. Insya'Allah you'll be happier!
