Khaja Recipe, most popular easy to make crispy khaja sweet recipe. Khaja sweet dish or chirote recipe, is a simple layered fritters dunked in sugar syrup and served crispy outside soft inside. Khaja sweet is traditional Odisha and Andhra cuisine sweet recipe prepared with plain flour or maida and less ingredients. Khaja recipe almost shares the same ingredients and process of making balushahi or badusha or other Indian sweets essentially dunked in sugar syrup, but Khaja sweet is layered sweet dish.
Khaja is a Popular delicacy from Telugu and Odisha cuisine, you can find this sweet dessert in every main occasions or festivals. Khaja also known as chiroti recipe, or similar to chiroti recipe because of its taste and texture, but making of khaja is much easier than traditional chiroti.
Later Khaja become popular in Bengal and got its place in Bengali sweet recipe and Bengali cuisine. This popular dessert recipe khaja, that especially kids favorite due its texture and taste. For dough:
Maida (All purpose flour) 1 1/2 Cup
Ghee 3 Tbsp
Water
For sugar syrup:
Sugar 1 1/2 Cup
Water 3/4 Cup
Oil (To deep fry)
Flour and ghee (as needed to roll)
