at first i thought this song is about khalid cheering up a friend and that you can rely on him, they'd be chilling backseat. but then i've listened to it some more and now i think it's actually weed cheering him up since "it will never bring you down" (it makes you high) and you can rely on it because you "already know what it provides" (knowing its effects beforehand). on a stressful week he could use some company and he has his friend (weed) to rely on in the beginning i wondered why this song had a sad note to it, now i understand through my interpretation love it!! my favorite song
