Okay ladies, reality check: whatever happens NEVER, EVER get into a car with a stranger, no matter how cute the guy seems and no matter how romantic this film makes it out to be because in reality it’s downright dangerous. They could bring out the sequel to this film next year in which the girl’s dead body is found lying in a ditch on the side of the road nearby to where she got off the bus. Safety first, romance second. Listen ladies, if he’s a decent guy he’ll be happy to exchange numbers and then meet up with you in a public place, during daylight hours, where you can take a chaperone to hover in the background and you can feel safe. 🙏🏾

Manjari's acting has improved by leaps and bounds. She's never looked better. Loved her in this. I have rooted for her unspokenly since Mumbai Salsa. She was the soul of this short story. I have watched this short film 10 times since it's release in September 2016. This has to be my favorite short film of all time! I mean the interaction is so simple, so subtle yet so much depth. I speak multiple languages as well, and I do understand Raina's perspective and thoughts. I understand when she says, there are some thoughts you can only have some thoughts in one language and not in other. "Hireth" was a perfect example! The cinematography, screenplay, acting, and music... Exquisite​!

Beautiful...simply beautiful.....hatss off to the makers , writers and the whole team...Harshvardhan Rane carries the character so humbly, and perfectly, "udayan" such a beautiful name picked up ,the character is so humble, well beahved and impressive..great acting by you sir....and manjari fadnis has acted so gracefully and she portrays such a wonderful and matured girl.....more to come from you both...I was longing to watch this deep emotional connection between a boy and a girl, which is very very rare to find in movies these days...thank you for such a wonderful movie 🙏🙏

I just happened to be told about this short movie KAAMAKHAA ,a couple of days ago , by a dear friend of mine called Karthikeyan. After watching ,I loved it so much that ,I strongly regretted not knowing about it all these over years ! Though it is a short film ,it has many layers to it ! The deeper most layer is the most important factor that attracts a boy to a girl unconsciously in their un married phase of their life..That is the "external looks" ,no matter how much one denies it ! ,( It is just my personal opinion ). Here ,both are good looking people. That of course doesn't play a big role , between two such intelligent people ,more than a bit of initial human physical chemistry ! What happens later is where the crux of the matter lies ! Due to a particular situation that arises along the journey of the boy ,the two accidentally happen to become co travellers in a bus sitting in the same row to start with. Initially ,the girl on her own ,( as she would do it with any body !) spontaneously objects to the pawn spitting villager old man ,when he troubles the hero by spitting it right across his chest ,and advises him not to do it ! That gesture gets the boy interested in her to the extent of ,only "who she could be" ,and there he incidentally looks at the Hindi book she was reading ! That triggers the entire long intellectual debate between the two , about the attitude of people reading English and Hindi books on a journey ,and that beautifully ends in clearing the misunderstanding that people can have on both sides ! After that ,a couple of things happen..The hero cares to fix the damaged kite of a boy ,and brings a smile on his face..She is also impressed by it ..After all he would have done it ,not to impress any one ! All these occurences ,bring the man and the woman mentally close enough to realise that both were not egotistic and not the types who were judgemental ,as they had thought of each other during the earlier incidents !! This subject of this story only shows ,how beautifully & mutually loving and respecting relationships can develop between a boy and girl randomly ( What a title KAAMAKHAA !) at any time and place ,despite the apparently opposite outward layers of attitude and behaviour people that they can naturally have ,initially !! It has also shown that ,in the back drop of the later moments of time spent between them and certain occurrence of things ,how those layers automatically get dissolved to bring those two together ! Hats off to the content of the story ! My salutes to the crispy screen play and above all the most intellectually written dialogue which has ultimately nailed this movie in its deserved position . This is really nice ! Wish I had seen this gem sooner..... both of them acted so well it was a delight to watch them . It also brought up so many issues ..... It absolutely pisses me off when people believe knowing how to speak English is a sign of being educated and intelligent. I have a family friend who has done Ph.D in Urdu A guy in my college comes from a Telugu medium school . My grandma is an extremely smart lady who has finished her education in Urdu . But people brush them off and all of their knowledge ,just because they can't speak English . English is one of the many languages in our country but a lot of people today consider it as the 'only' language that should be spoken to come across as a worthy and educated human being . And don't even get me started on the fake English accent people put on to appear cool and stylish instead they come across as desperate wannabes. They are honestly a cringe fest to be around. I think people in our country need to change their narrow minded and dumb way of thinking and instead respect all the languages that exists rather than drooling over English . * End of rant * 😅
