This is amazing! I can't tell you how much AI has improved the educational outcome of some of my special-needs students. And to have even more at my fingertips, is simply a blessing. Khan Academy has been a game changer for my little ones and I can't thank you enough for providing educators with these tools and resources.

Summarized by AskTube: This video discusses the potential of AI to transform the classroom experience for both teachers and students. The CEO of the Academy explains how AI can assist teachers in tasks such as lesson planning and grading, freeing up their time for more important tasks. Additionally, AI can provide personalized tutoring for students, making learning more effective and engaging. The video explores the potential benefits and challenges of implementing AI in education. The Potential of AI in Education 📚 00:01 AI can be a tutor for every student and a teaching assistant for every teacher, allowing teachers to focus on more important tasks. 00:20 AI can assist teachers in tasks such as writing lesson plans and progress reports, freeing up their time for more important tasks. 00:38 The partnership with Microsoft allows for the provision of AI tools to teachers for free, which would otherwise be expensive. AI in the Classroom: Changing the Game 🚀 00:54 The addition of AI to the classroom experience can lead to better outcomes for students if used effectively. 01:12 Technology is not a solution in itself, but rather a tool to be used effectively to achieve better outcomes. Teachers' Experience with AI 📊 01:32 AI can help reduce teachers' workload, saving them 5-10 hours a week, allowing them to focus on more important tasks. 01:49 Teachers often feel overwhelmed with new tools and technologies, but AI can provide immediate productivity and time savings. The Future of AI in Education 🚫 02:39 AI can help teach conversation skills, which was previously not possible with computers. 02:55 AI will be used in the classroom setting itself, making the learning experience more personalized and effective. Implementing AI in the Classroom 📚 03:11 Over 100,000 students and approaching a million teachers and students in the United States will have access to AI-assisted learning. 03:31 AI will be a writing coach for students and support teachers, reducing cheating and improving the learning experience.

Education for children today is in the context of an emerging global digital platform that will be able to have conversations with millions of people around the world at the same time, and to merge the knowledge and sentiment expressed in those conversations into representations of the collective will of humanity.

No matter how sophisticated AI is, it will not be able to replace teachers in the world of education because education is not only about knowledge but there is a touch of emotion, social life, spiritualism, ethical practices and other things that machines like AI will not have.

The problem is there are/were too many teachers out there who were there for the paycheck only, and never really cared to interact and communicate with the students. Anyone who sees this and believes that there will be less need for teachers in the future has a screw loose.
@snorremortenkjeldsen67378 ай бұрын
@@starventureWhile I do agree with you to a certain extent, I also think it depends on what subject we’re talking about, and what age group. Of course there is a strong social element to education that AI will never be able to replace, but don’t you think an AI tutor will soon be able to teach a language as good, or better than a human language teacher?

@@snorremortenkjeldsen6737 i don't think so. You have the power to comprehend the feelings of a particular student much better than AI. AI is a tool; but students are learning their way in the world and may not be able to use this tool very well.

Selling teachers and education as a government controlled sector out to a private company like Microsoft. AI needs to be made open source and the training data needs be made transparent by law. Companies deploying AI need to have a much higher tax rate and equal wealth redistribution (done by the government and not corporations) has to happen. We need to put an end to the rise of tech feudalism before governments lose control.

The devises are dusted because the teachers don’t create appropriate material like simulations, videos and so forth to use in the classroom. So the students use these devises for playing games, watching movies etc. This is happening because educators and educational institutions have lost the ability to follow new technologies.

I actually agree. And I'm a computer science major with AI masters. It's not the computer per se, if we're talking about in general what computers bring to humanity. It's the lack of understanding in how to use the computer properly. For one, computers in classrooms have done a poor job of replacing the textbook. I saw this with my daughter during the pandemic where her first year of high school was on 2020. Then the horrible way schools used remote learning, they were totally unprepared. My child has no textbooks and her knowledge gap and those of her classmates is evident from when I went to school. So not really the computer, but just like a business, you have to a plan on how to use the technology to it's best ability.
@toddlichtenwalter20418 ай бұрын
@@Koyasi78 So have you taught her how to use a computer properly? I would imagine you being a computer scientist, she would be an expert in knowledge management, research, and cognitive science-based learning strategies. Have you taught her how to use Notion for organization, study, and learning? I mean it is easy for you to blame her teachers, but what about you? Are you teaching her how to make her own AI Personal tutor assistant based on her own Knowledge resources (ChatGPT, Mind Studio etc.)? It is ironic that you, as a computer scientist, are complaining that her school teacher, who is not a computer expert like yourself, does not know how to use a computer properly. Get more involved in her life and start teaching her. As for remote learning, that happened quickly and the financial investments to deploy it top level, well society has proven they do not value education enough to invest the resources to make that happen (virtual reality meeting spaces e.g. Engage VR). Did you volunteer to go into her school and teach them how to do remote learning at the standards you were expecting by sharing your expertise? Sounds to me that you should try going in and teaching k12 and then see where your opinions reside.

Before you proceed to education, make sure you know your territory appropriately in the space of precautions against the insufficiencies of the knowledge and the deficiencies of human perceptions. Education is the most sensitive and misunderstood notion that I know of ! Too many interest are fighting over it to gain a political advantage ! Start with health, not education. A good clinician AI won't be swayed by emotions. Doctors are so pressured from all directions and so afraid they are often unable to properly express diagnostic and prognostics, no offense to them, I'd be scared too. That's because they are not respected by the medical establishment which is too political involved and forget health issues. As long as administration solutions are admonition on medical personnel, THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE !
