Salam, peace be upon you 👋. Wow what an experience over some streets around Cairo. Seems that our good ol' mr moonshine had found himself some fans 😄✌️! That is quite a bustle with the people, street vendors and earnest merchants eagerly soliciting to sell their goods 😁. Well it's friday, so kind of expected this perhaps it's their weekend or day off, which is a norm in a predominantly muslim country. Btw, friday is the holiest day for a muslim, therefore the men are expected to perform the obligatory congregated Friday prayer at the mosque and listen to the sermon as well 👌. You can expected to see some vendors setting up stalls to sell merchandise, food & beverages, textiles etc around the vicinity. Its kind of a good way to mingle and socialize among them as well during the day 😁. Anyway take care n c ya!

But you do trust the Egyptians mostly wear no face masks nor practicing social distancing as if they are immune to the pandemic, right?
@yvesthesleeve3 жыл бұрын
@@saidinmas Exactly 😀😀😀😀, Well, there is no official pandemic here actually, few cases only. But I don't know if they do a lot of testing. But what I have learned from within the last year that people tested positive and people getting sick is a whole different ball game. Let alone those who died. I actually know people from all over the world and that is a lot of people. I do not know of anyone getting sick from the virus, sometimes that makes me think...

I have an Egyptian teacher. Her family and her don't want to go back to Egypt anymore. Her siblings and many of her relatives also migrate to other countries. She said that things are different now. There are thieves everywhere, many people don't get proper job and some of them underpaid. It's hard to live there anymore. Just take precautions, don't easily trust anybody anywhere you go.

Definitely have a friend or guide walk with you, especially in Khan El Khalili. If alone, just be pretty firm and bargain for prices since shoppers will hike the price. It’s all about bargaining and hoping not to be scammed hehe…
