You know Mr. Khan, you and you alone are the reason this program works so well. What you teach is no different than a university professor, but the way you teach it squeezes more information into a 12 minute video than I'll get in a 50 minute lecture, and I understand it much better. I think I speak for everyone when I say I wish you were my teacher, you'd be absolutely perfect at it.

@PlanYourLift8 жыл бұрын
This is great and I was nodding my head, smiling, understanding everything up to where you did the standard deviation. When you did the square root thing, how did you find out it's 10√2 and not just type into your calculator √200 = 14.14 ? Do you not actually work out the square root? The variance for the second population was 2 and the standard deviation also 2, why don't you square root 2 (√2=1.41) for the S.D? Thanks
@arsnova038 жыл бұрын
The reason why he did that is because 200 is equal to 100*2 and by propierties of exponentiation, √(100*2)=√100√2=10√2. √2 is a number like any other number, it's not necessary to "work it out". Sometimes we like to do it that way because it gives us a more of a feel for where the numbers are on the number line. I don't know where √650 is on the number line, but 25.5 is pretty clear. It might be easier to see where 14.14 is on the number line than 10√2, but 10√2 looks prettier to me. It's just a matter of personal preference.
@PlanYourLift8 жыл бұрын
i see. its cool you see some numbers are prettier than others, you must somewhat have a passion for math.
