We will explore what causes things to heat up when electricity runs through them. We will also learn how to calculate the amount of heat produced per second due to electricity.

The origin of electrical engineering is from micro & nano level mechanical engineering. Random motion, collision, driving force to transfer electrons in ordered motion. Energy dissipation. These two branches shares hardcore brotherhood ❤️.

I have a question Do electrons actually collide with atoms as atoms are just clouds of electrons So, when it collide, it will collide with other electrons Isn't it the situation when heat produced?? I 'm confused as if it collide with atom then resistivity of silver must be more as compare to copper as it has large atom and so the nucleus therefore collision must be more and as well as resistivity? Please answer! Confused🤔
@rajaganappathiesshanmugasu30983 жыл бұрын
Silver has many free electrons so ..it's conductivity is more
@poliokhurakh22423 жыл бұрын
Atom is not just just a cloud of electrons, it has protons too which are positive charges so when they collide it produces heat

Sir, one formula is showing that heat produced is directly proportional to resistance and one is showing that it is inversely proportional. Plz explain this
@jasleenkaur45034 жыл бұрын
I don't know if my answer is correct or not as I am also a 10th student..Here it goes: *Mathematically* As the formulas tell: P=I²R P=V²/R We can say : I²R=V²/R I²R²=V² (IR)²=V² This means it holds true for ohm's law too and also for V=IR(as shown in video) The simple explanation is: *Physics* Since P=VI This seems that power isn't dependent on R at all .. From ohms law we know- V=IR if temperature is constant .. R=V/I (where R is constant) using Ohm's law Then in V²/R, R is constant we say power is directly proportional to V², 1/R is proportionality constant..In I²R , R is constant , so power is directly proportional to I² and R is constant . Hope it helps..:)

how can the electron collide with the atom like electron is a part of an atom right . so how is it possible
@soumyaranjanjhankar65524 жыл бұрын
He is talking about the free electrons available in the material, not the bounded one... In a conductor, there are more free electrons, so we have an excellent current flow, but in the case of insulator we have few free electrons

@@soumyaranjanjhankar6552 u mean when the electrons which are shared from one atom to another?

No...I mean The electrons which are out of the bondage of nuclear force, i.e. attractive force between the electron and nucleus... Generally, in conductors, the valance electrons very loosely held and they are free from the bondage even at room temperature and hence called free electron

Sir I was trying to calculate heat dissipation of a lithium ion cell having capacity of 3.2Ah and open circuit voltage 3.7V and IR 35 mili Ohm. Heat dissipation - H = VxIxt = 3.7*3.2*1 = 11.84 W Heat dissipation - H = IxIxRxt = 3.2*3.2*(35/1000)*1 = 0.3584 W Mili ohm to Ohm conversion (35/1000)* Can you please suggest me why I am getting different values here. If we have 10 Cell in parallel and 12 in series then the difference will be more. Can you please help me in the same.

First thing H is not power... Secondly it depends on the constant of proportionality. You can write the two things by using a different constant of proportionality

I have two doubts - 1) - Why shaking electrons causes heat? 2) watch the formula carefully- H = V I T Unit of heat = joules Unit of voltage = joules Unit of current = Amperes Unit of time = seconds.... Put units into equations Now , We got - Joules = Joules × Amperes × Seconds But joules = Joules × coulomb(seconds from amperes cancel out seconds ) BUT JOULE EQUALS JOULE , SO FROM WHERE DOES COULOMB COMES AND DESTROY EQUALITY......ITS A GREAT DISCOVERY
