For Hydrogen would I use 1 or 2 for its molar mass? I don't know what to use because my chemistry teacher said hydrogen was a diatomic element but I don't know if it's applicable to this situation.
@spaight7117 жыл бұрын
Hydrogen exists as H2, so it would be 2g/mol. It's the mass of the gas, not the element[s] the gas is named after; you have to reference the chemical formula of the gas.
@mmahjoori9 жыл бұрын
I guess something is wrong in this explanation. If the nummber of the molecules in the pot are the same (moles of O2=moles of CO2), then you can put directly the MW in order to compare them. But consider for example you have one molecule CO2 and 1000 molecules O2. In this case whether you have to consider the relative pressure or the mol numbers to have a correct equation. For example: n1.MW1.V1 ^2=n2.MW2.V2^2 It is not like this?

So basically after he writes RateO = √44/32 he simply gets the square root of both then what he does ? How he gets the answer simply of 1.17 how? And he multiples with rateC but for now we know we don't have rateC yet Confusing someone help.
@devadharsan77213 жыл бұрын
Yo rate c indiacates the rate of diffuson of carbon atoms. And he got the answer simply with the calcultor , I hope your doubt got solved after a couple of years
@uewtv38884 жыл бұрын
Guys any help? The density of a gas of relative molecular mass 28 at a certain temperature is 0.90 kgm-3. The root mean square speed of the gas molecules at that temperature is 602 ms-1. Assuming that the rate of diffusion of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of its density, calculate the density of the gas standard temperature and pressure if its root mean square speed at is 490 ms-1.

Why does carbon dioxide goes on top and not bottom ?
@thanhhoang19838 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Lam Because of providing energy to molecules, so they are moving arbitrarily. Sometime carbon dioxide molecules can be on top and vice versa.
