Based on the way Thai schools have been “teaching” English to their students and the end result of students who either still don’t have a decent grasp at the language - speaking, reading or even writing, nailing the accent has long been considered not up-to-par, so I can see why this teacher is, indeed, deserving of many high praises. He’s got the potential to start them off on a better foundation. I suppose it’s better than the alternative of having teachers who don’t know as much as he does; however, I would be more reserved in commenting that he’s fluent in English. His accent needs a lot of improvement to be considered fluent in the English language. I do think he’s done very well, especially with all the constraints he’s dealt with considering the demographics of his students. 👍👍👍👍👍
You are doing the right thing of teaching English by using words around the children's surroundings such as at school or home. The best thing you are doing great is speaking English wiht no translation in the childres's native language. I admire your efford and the love of teaching these children who if not for you will not be ale to learn so much English. My hat off for you! .....from an ENglish teacher in California, U.S.A. who is also Thai.
