This dish is called ' Sannan' in Konkani language. The batter can be used to make a Uthappa like dish and it is called Sanna Polo. Both are used as a side dish in a normal meal. Further modifications to this batter is done by adding finely chopped onion or cabbage and a Uthappa is made. Some people add small pieces of crushed bamboo shoots ( known as 'Keerl' in Konkani ) for making the spicy Uthappa. All these combinations taste equally good.
