KHARAN | City of Forts | Balochistan | Pakistan | Part 1 |

Kharan is geographically a desert and sandy area, located 235 km southwest of Quetta city, the provincial capital of Balochistan. This area has the honor that the nuclear explosion was tested on May 30, 1998 in the Raskoh hills of Kharan desert. The state of Kharan came into existence in 1697, the rulers here built forts in different areas of the state.
